Yep. Same age, and it took my enthusiast uncle and friend with a Jeep to teach me to drive a manual as a teen.  None of my friend’s parents had manuals.

I don’t know. With BMW it’s rarely the engine itself with issues, but, rather, the stuff attached to the engine, and the M3 pure won’t be THAT much lower in power.

This is so good.  Gen-X still appreciates the who-gives-a-fuck beauty of the ‘90s.  Nihilism is practically baked into the cake.

I’m a young Gen-X, or xennial, so same thing.  You’re probably more Gen-X’ish, since most of the millennial bashing seems to be aimed at those ten years younger than you.

Between this and the recent announcement of a couple of electric crate engines that hook up to manual transmission cars, I’m more optimistic about electric than I am ICE with automatics/DCTs.
