It’s a really great car, especially if you need usable backseats. Add bolt-ones, M3 suspension arms and sway bars, poly or M3 rear subframe bushings, non-run flat tires, Dinan camber plates (front) and shock mounts (rear,) an MHD tune, new shocks/springs and an LSD, and your well on your way to a fantastic car.

Of course. The question is timing. There were compelling indicators even a few years ago that things could reverse, particularly before the election, and a lot of people were wrong.  

I contend that all non-drab or dull yellows are awful in person. Granted, I’m not a peacock.

I love the 1M, and it made a lot of sense when buying new for only $10K more than a 135i, but now the 135i costs $50K-$60K less, simply because there are so few 1Ms. If you buy a used 135i for only $15K-$20K in the first place, resale isn’t much of a worry. For the performance or the prestige? If the former, just buy a low mileage 135i and set aside $10K for suspension mods, bolt ons, and an MHD tune. That’ll give you a sleeper that smokes a 1M.

Unless you get the Turbo, which also needs to get air to an intercooler. In this case, rather than grills above the bumper, you get them in the bumper.
