I think people will still care about the real ones.

Nah, only peacocks like cars in bright colors like yellow, regardless of brand.

The M2 and E46 M3 both weigh about 3450 lbs.

It’s a really great car, especially if you need usable backseats. Add bolt-ones, M3 suspension arms and sway bars, poly or M3 rear subframe bushings, non-run flat tires, Dinan camber plates (front) and shock mounts (rear,) an MHD tune, new shocks/springs and an LSD, and your well on your way to a fantastic car.

Of course. The question is timing. There were compelling indicators even a few years ago that things could reverse, particularly before the election, and a lot of people were wrong.

I contend that all non-drab or dull yellows are awful in person. Granted, I’m not a peacock.

Oh, I agree that it is probable, but I’d hesitate to say “fact.”  If it were fact, I’d put all my money into the fact without concern.

Yep, yellow doesn’t mean it has to look like an emergency vehicle searing the retina.

Deleted, because For Sweden edited his reply. ;)

Good yellow:

:) That’s probably my favorite E82 mod. lol

Sure they do. When high end car, art, wine, etc. sales go soft, it’s usually a sign of things to come.  Of course, having an auction a few days after an inverted yield curve was unlucky timing.

Yeah, from what I understand, the entire Monterey auction did very poorly. There may be some truth to a potential recession coming.

Who cares? I love the 1M, and it made a lot of sense when buying new for only $10K more than a 135i, but now the 135i costs $50K-$60K less, simply because there are so few 1Ms. If you buy a used 135i for only $15K-$20K in the first place, resale isn’t much of a worry. Plus, because of the 1M’s rarity, most guys who

Yeah, it’s the engine.

FWIW, the M2 Competition is 3600 lbs. The preceding, regular M2 shown in the pic is 3450 lbs.

For the performance or the prestige? If the former, just buy a low mileage 135i and set aside $10K for suspension mods, bolt ons, and an MHD tune. That’ll give you a sleeper that smokes a 1M.

“Replacing Slayer as the car’s main sponsor is PODS...”

Yeah, I put in a 5” stepped, so my IATs don’t go over 100, but I live in Portland.

Unless you get the Turbo, which also needs to get air to an intercooler. In this case, rather than grills above the bumper, you get them in the bumper.
