To quote myself from another post three seconds ago: “I mean, we’ve gone from slowly accepting autos/DCT around here, of which I don’t agree with, to now saying SUV handling is good enough?”

I lived for years in LA with my manual 911 (moved away in 2015.) I think drivers, even many enthusiasts, are just getting softer and looking at cars as a rolling multimedia event with the focus moving away from driving itself. To me, something like a 911 IS the compromise for a daily driver that’s still fun at the…
Yeah, I’m just saying, with the derailment last year, too, it’s been in the news a bit lately.
Wow, my partner actually took an Amtrak from Portland to Seattle last week, solely because we were worried about the road conditions for driving. I guess we’ll reconsider that strategy in the future.
Look, I’m a guy who doesn’t love driving flashy cars, I only buy manuals, and I have enough experience with BMW to know that buying one with this many electronics is like entering a Komodo dragon’s cage crotch first...but these things are so other-worldly looking that the lust is still there. i8s look bonkers in…
Whew, that’s a tough call. If I didn’t have a seething disgust of Foxx over the last 15 years, you’d probably be right.
Thank goodness about Jamie Foxx. That dude groped and harassed both my ex-girlfriend and an ex-coworker about 15 years ago, and seeing him with Joey Potter was hard to bear. I was really hoping his time was up when the dick-slapping thing came out.
Lots? We have an X3, which tested better to me than just about anything this side of the Porsche, and it still pales in comparison to driving a sports coupe. That’s fine if you’re talking about some brands, but it’s not great when you’re talking about traditional sporting car companies like Porsche and BMW.
Hardly. The (ICE) Macan is about the same weight as an X3, which is nearly 1000lbs more than something like a GTI. Also, the Macan’s ground clearance is a couple of inches more in the lowered mode.
Hmmmm. I find it’s more the individual AirPods that are easy to loose. Not so much the entire case.

At my comparatively meager salary, I drive my fun car whenever I can and park them outside, but, damn, this guy is in another stratosphere. Totally awesome.
Yeah, Los Angeles, which is where I’m guessing that car resides, is full of people on minimum wage tripling up in apartments next door to multi-millionaires.
I got skimmed about a decade ago (we think it was a local gas station.) Not only that, they wore disguises that vaguely looked like us and withdrew $14K over the course of a week from various ATMs and RiteAids near us. I was using a small bank at the time (was a VISA debit,) so they didn’t catch the fraud until it…
I see what you mean. It is mostly older averages that are easy to find.
Just google it. Depending on the year, I’ve seen the 911 average age in the 49-52 year old’ish range, and the Corvette in the 58-61 year old’ish age.
I had one of these:
I got in trouble for cursing for the first time at age 4, when my neighbor showed me one of these things in his garage, and I exclaimed “What the hell is that??” Those ass holes told their parents on me.
FWIW, the Corvette has an even older average age buyer than the 911. Depending on the year, 911 average age buyers tend to hover around 50, and Corvette average age buyers are closer to 60.
They’re probably referring to a code reader.
I never said they were my friends. The point is, professionals like doctors, lawyers, etc., still drive the Prius, but very few middle-aged doctors go out and buy Corollas, and that’s because the Prius is seen as higher end. I’m not saying I agree with it, or that it’s right, but it’s the truth.
