Why isn’t this happening the other way around?  Why aren’t mediocre female athletes transitioning and suddenly winning medals in the men’s division?

Because the polling numbers for including biological men in women’s sports are fucking awful. The numbers were already bad in 2021 and they’ve gotten much worse since then.
