Unfortunately, yes, it happens all day long, all year round, in all the states that don’t require helmets, like Colorado, where I live.

...in some states that have repealed the helmet law, you’d be surprised the amount of people who ride with no helmet...

Here in PA where they are no longer required by law, lots of people ride helmetless. It is the equivalent of getting “IDIOT” tattooed across your forehead.

Maybe a better title would have been to allude to your point about enjoying riding no matter how much bank you have to spend on it because there is definitely a ton of wrong ways to be a motorcyclist. Same as in a gun owner...there is a certain amount of responsibility involved in lessening the chance of hurting…

Ah, the good old days. When Russia was run by a harmless drunk, and the US was run by a harmless philanderer. Well, harmless unless you were an intern. But globally speaking, yeah.

I found them online (and on sale). They’re a good weight for Florida. Soft and drape well, but you’re right, nothing all that special.

I’d say that “freedom” is probably at least a bit tongue-in-cheek. But you’re right of course. These things are awesome, but also quite unpleasant for people on the wrong end, who may have done nothing but been born in a shitty country.

Not intending to flame, but I generally don’t like to refer to explosive payload as freedom. It’s death. If death is your idea of freedom, we have very different definitions. Is it necessary? Absolutely. But when you call a horrible necessity “freedom,” you give up all claim to your humanity. War is not glamorous, war…
