@thishacks: to be fair, windows sometimes decides this for no apparent reason, even when the copy IS genuine.

I have no idea what kind of algorithm they use, but it failed completely when it came to my taste in music. Once I found the semi-obscure artist they recommended, I got all of 15 seconds into a song before I decided I couldn't stand it and shut it off.
I bring my computer if I'm going on a trip that is going to have internet, and if it's a 'family' thing — where me sitting in my room surfing the net and being antisocial doesn't totally defeat the purpose of coming, since there are still relatives out and socializing in other rooms.
