@WingedGenius: Yeah, they're awesome, if only shipping from thinkgeek to this side of the pond wasn't prohibitive.. :-)

Lots of snow up here, will definitely try to get my ass out in the cold.. This is an old macro of some snow I think on my balcony railing.

@Whitson Gordon: I have not had android send messages to the wrong person on CM6.1 (hero), however messages I have received from different sources (as it happens the post office and a phone operator marketing message, both very short numbers) ended up in the same thread.

This seems very confused. The DNS server you use has zero impact on what node of a CDN you actually get connected to, while they may well use the reverse lookup of your ip to figure out where you are connecting from (the DNS server they use), it's far more likely that they use things like hop count, latency or node

@Volanova: Yeah, the Merkur blades are OK, haven't actually tried many since I got to steal a bunch of Feather off a friend. Treet is one brand I would definitively NOT recommend, they were nasty—especially for people like me with very sensitive skin (go geek stereotype).

@ichiban1081: Be sure to dial back your angle setting to 0 (if your razor has one) before trying.. they are wicked sharp :-)

@Volanova: Hear hear, Brother! Got myself a Futur and I am so loving it with Feather blades and proper shaving soap & brush...

Oh, boy, this brings back memories... Nokia 5110 160 character bug anyone? :-)

@Britton: It has a very sturdy expression of stoic reliability :-)

@danzor!: I have to promote this, pure awesomeness :-)

I made this thing a while ago when lifehacker—I think—featured some company making the things... It was fun to make, a koskenkorva cap (something like finnish vodka), a 60W bulb and a bicycle spoke. The wick is a piece of cotton string I got from a knitting store (they looked at me funny when I said what it was for).

@MajesticTrout: Same thing with my Hero, it's apparently been deemed not worthy. I has a sad.

"cool"

So what's the opponent color of octarine?

@icelight: I see, well that makes better sense. Thanks for setting me straight.

Grmf, kept bothering me that they were talking about "magic hour".. as far as I know, that's just before sunrise and just after sunset, and not in the middle of the day.

@crazycaveman eats the whales: It won't backup the radio rom, since AFAIK that's on a different chip, but it will back up the kernel (boot) partition.

For those suffering under asynchronous connections, ack priority can be a boon, but probably quite tricky to set up. I did this when I had adsl using altq with pf on my netbsd gateway. Perhaps you could select packets like this using the QoS features of some dsl terminals?

@TheAlmightyBen: Are you quite sure you don't mean Miss Golijan?
