You must have read me wrong :) I’m all for using the gas tax to incentivize the purchase of more fuel-efficient vehicles, just as it does in Europe where pickup trucks are virtually non-existent. It’s just that even talking about it tends to bring out extreme viewpoints from others. I can assume many opposing a higher

Arguing that he should be arrested because he broke the law conveniently obfuscates the necessity of that law in the first place.

Hoist the engine for a timing belt on a MKIV? What are you talking about. The timing belt on the MKIV 2.0 and 1.8T is not a hard job. The timing chain on the VR6, any VR6 not just the MKIV, is a pain.

You are high. Do you remember when the MKIV Jetta came out? It was the car, along with the New Beetle, that saved VW in the US. The design was fresh, simple, clean and modern. The interior design and materials set a new bar for a small car. Many competitors tried to copy, and frankly I miss the days when car

Boring? Beautiful. Simple, and elegant. I still love that generation of Jetta whenever I see one on the road. Sadly there aren’t many left running.

LOL okay dude.

Really Jalopnik...

To be entirely fair, everything that Toyota makes that takes 0W20 is on the same maintenance schedule - 12 months/10,000 miles for standard service, or 6 mo/5k if you short-trip (sub-5 mi) below freezing, tow (you’re not supposed to on a Prius anyway), live on a dirt road, use a roof rack, run the car at max payload

Wonder what real world MPG will look like. My ‘12 3.5EB 4x4 saw 17mpg as best ever highway mpg. City was 12, combined was about 14.5. It was Rated at 15/21.

In real-life highway driving, I’ve gotten 24mpg highway from a 16 Silverado 1500 4x4. Ford being excited by 23...isn’t impressive.

It’s only $4500 on the Prime. And no, I wouldn’t.

I like the Chevy Volt so much more than the Toyota thing with what look like knockoff Hot Wheels wheels.

Is the Prius Prime eligible for the $7,500 tax credit?

The upside to the bisected rear window is it blocks the headlights of cars behind you when doing 63 mph in the fast lane. You can’t even tell how many people are back there!

I’m usually the first one to applaud designs that break the mold, except when Bangle ruined Bmw, and when THIS, this...thing they call it a Prius came onto the scene. The second gen Prius was an excellent exercise of form and function combined. Sure it looks like a sanding block, but I like it a lot, and it hauls a

What am I even supposed to be looking at? An old recall notice that deals with a potential fire risk? That doesn’t even begin to support the notion that Saabs are “notorious for being more than flammable.”

They are notorious for being more than flammable.

If the only Saab you like is the 9-5 then you misseed the point of Saab on a fundamental level.

offer a fully integrated solution for agencies wishing to minimize the presence of their police vehicles

It is powered by an electric motor.
