There’s a whole category of travellers who prefer airbnb over hotels. Lady Sterling and I are planning to drive from Portland to Las Vegas via the Oregon coast and the desolate deserts of central Nevada. My guess is that most of our stops will be airbnbs. It can be fun and rewarding to stay in a unique place if the… Read more
Obviously, I am a huge fan of ONJ. She was such a light in this world, and—between Grease and Xanadu—she made my childhood so fantastical. I feel fortunate that I was able to see her in concert in 2016. What a legend.
The call about whiny, triggered snowflakes has ALWAYS been coming from inside the house with that crowd.
Olivia Newton John made things a little more fun. Her music, her movies, her live shows (I was fortunate to see her perform live), and Koala Blue were just happy. I used to tie my dad’s red bandana around my face and pose like the album cover for Totally Hot. I still watch the AMAZING finale of Xanadu when I’m feeling… Read more
This has been pointed out in many places, but there is something particularly hilarious about Trump’s indignation about the raid being ‘unannounced’ and his anger about how they broke into his safe.
The weirdest part to me was when he compared it to Watergate as though that was a bad thing? We found out the president did bad things. How far gone are we that people will start to think the Watergate scandal was somehow un-american?
“I’ve been a rapist longer than you’ve been alive. How dare you question me?”
That reminds me of when people on this site screamed for Meryl to be cancelled cause one of the articles here went ahead and completely spoiled the movie The Laundromat (about the Panama papers) by saying she played a Latina woman. The movie hadn't even come out yet and it ruined the ending for me because the point of… Read more
I would love a show about poor queers! And like, actually poor, not "I have an undefined job at this gay diner, but also a downtown condo."
I agree, but I think the trouble will also come when Franco opens his mouth and his whiny little college-boy voice comes out. Unless he does some sort of Christian-Bale-rasping-as-Batman deal (which also became ridiculously overdone over the course of those films), no one is going to buy it, no matter how strong the… Read more
There seem to be times where the discussion about racism in Hollywood (usually about Spanish speakers) becomes itself weirdly racist, as though Americans believe that all native Spanish speakers are POC from Central or South America only and there are no people who speak Spanish from, say, SPAIN. It sometimes feels a… Read more
Yeah there was definitely no one else...
I’m not sure that I understand the issue. This isn’t a white person playing a POC - Fidel was very much white. His father was born in Spain and his mother was of Canarian descent. He was the child of colonizers, and the Castro family had only been in Cuba for about 20 years by the time Fidel was even born. If… Read more
