Annie Murphy seems to finally be getting her due—amongst my small circle at least--but she’s long been underrated just by not being a Levy or Catherine O’Hara and it’s an absolute crime. Maybe b/c the character can seem one-note on first viewing, but she’s by far the best “’dumb’ party girl” character ever put on

Glad he came out of that weird fever about messing with his past films, but I wish George Lucas had done/could do the same. Maclunky!

Considering the slaves-to-whites ratio and all the work the slaves put into building, running, etc. each plantation ... how could any plantation tour not spend 90% of its time talking about slaves? Like, they did literally everything for the house and the grounds, so what the fuck else do you talk about??

Funny, what stands out is how much I remember being an adolescent gamer at that time. During the late 90s/early 00s a lot of gamers I knew simply refused to like anything that wasn’t super “mature”—which really meant violent and/or sexy—because games and gamers were going through this snotty adolescent phase. A lot of

Man, remember when Subway was good? NO YOU DON’T IT WAS ALWAYS THIS BAD!

There’s not really much to argue here since by all accounts the movie was decent, we just don’t give a shit about Terminator anymore. What I do know is Cameron is a notorious prick and tyrant, so no one should be surprised, and yet you should probably listen to him.

I’m not sure anyone can lay claim to being the original “four guys sitting in a row.” As much as Coldplay have lifted from U2 over their lifetime, this ain’t it.

Having been yelled at by an event attendee last weekend (I manage events) over meaningless dress code terms, I support this. Apparently “cocktail attire” means completely different things in NYC vs. the Midwest and I should know this.

My knowledge of her is sadly mostly just 30 Rock, but by god did she just own every second she was on-screen. It didn’t matter who else was on screen or what was happening—you were looking at her. Even in her last appearance, when her character dies (and you can tell Stritch is likely nearing the end of her own life),

EVERYONE COME LOOK, THIS GUY DOESN’T LIKE VAMPIRE WEEKEND

I feel like cherry is actually more accurate than a lot of artificial flavors, but then none of them really taste like what they’re supposed to.

I’d assume it’s studio interference or an image-conscious celeb refusing to look stupid on screen, but this doesn’t seem like either of those. This movie is too niche for the studio to insist on such a big change to reality, and Portman seems like someone who’d do anything for a role, so I guess it really was just a

Cobie Smulders deserves all the success, so I’ll hope for the best almost solely because of her. She is so freaking talented and I would appreciate it if everyone knew that.

Sounds like someone needs to resurrect Zone of the Enders. Jehuty, save us!

Truly my favorite Sandler film ever, and the one where he really best balanced all his talents. Odd, puerile, full of random characters who may or may not be offensive ... but sweet, loving, and genuine. I loved his dumber stuff as a young guy, and I appreciate his more dramatic stuff too, but this is the only time he

It’s looking pretty cool, and I’m feeling a bit better about how they’ll treat some of the goofier aspects of the original. I couldn’t imagine modern Square, who seems to have forgotten what joy is, doing stuff like the Honeybee Inn, but they’re not shying away from it! I’m excited.

If he promises to stay far, far away from the writers’ room, I can pretty much promise I’ll enjoy all of this. He’s got great ideas, is a solid director, and is a powerful LGBT figure who promotes other LGBT people (and people of color), so I’m so glad he has such a loud voice in Hollywood ... but just please stop

Reading this was impossible--the movies and their titles are so similar I constantly forgot which was which. Not Caroline’s fault AT ALL, but all I know at the end of it is that the Kunis/Timberlake one is better even if I don’t know what the title is.

She is so ridiculously talented--one of the best parts of Reno 911 and that cast was STACKED--and now getting dramatic Emmy noms? Fuck yes, Niecy.

I do genuinely want this to be good, but I have so many worries. One, almost anytime people try to explain the origins of pure evil, it is SUPER FUCKING LAME. We don’t need a Joker origin story, we don’t need a Hannibal Lecter origin story, etc. It does look like maybe they’re not quite trying to explain or justify
