Sascha Baron Cohen is clearly the closest comparison, but I find it interesting that his influence and popularity seemed to fade away about the same time as twitter and the "blogosphere" took off. His act seemed to get tired much faster than Kauffman's did - but Cohen also didn't embrace social media - which again

To be clear, I'm 35 so missed most of Kaufman's "genius era" and I'm not sure I would like him today either, but I absolutely don't think the internet would ignore him. I think he was built and wired to get attention in the reality TV/social media world ... if someone like Ashton Kutcher can get 12 million followers

Looking for a joke on the KC Royals' Kauffman stadium post, I spent a few minutes perusing wikipedia's entry on Andy Kaufman and got completely drawn in.

Adams' account has actually been active for over 5 hours, but no one thought it was important to let him know until now.

[Thinks hard about whether John McEnroe adds sufficient value to the broadcast]

I haven't seen my kids in two weeks, and all I can think about is how much I want to be with them and protect them.

Well, I sent you $100 three days ago when I first made the comment, but it got returned in the mail by Kinja. Your loss, I guess.

Fine, fine, we get it guys. It is the slow part of the year. There is nothing going on except unfounded trade talk and all-too-founded child rape talk.
