Yeah, that was a thing in 2010. But today, you can’t find a reliable used car for $2-3k.  You’re really looking at $4-6k.  Even a 2010 Camry costs $5k unless you get one with 170k miles on it.  Yes, there are plenty of cars for $2-3k, but it’s a gamble.
