Schools is one of the few issues that you can literally throw money at and they do improve. Money can buy new books. Money Can pay teachers better. Money can fix the schools heating and cooling. Money can upgrade the computers. Money can ensure they have epi pens! GIVE THEM THE MONEY!

I’m an educated mom, and trust me - I would be doing my son a great disservice if I thought I could homeschool him. Teachers are amazing.

??? I think you misunderstood PumpkinSpies comment. They meant that the algorithms YouTube and other sites use are fucked up. “Oh you’re researching about how messed up Scientology is? Maybe you’d also like to know how fucked up Catholicism is.” This comment wasn’t negative about you in any way. You need to chillax.

My favorite bit from that story: “It also accused the nuns of spending more time working against poverty and social injustice than abortion and same-sex marriage.”

Good for them! Remember when the previous Pope, Palpatine er, Benedict was getting ready so sic the Inquisition on US nuns because they were too liberal? And because the Vatican wanted to steal their stuff?

As someone who grew up Catholic (but now wouldn’t set foot in a church if the rest of the planet were lava), the way the Church treats nuns has a far-reaching effect that goes beyond just those nuns. It’s ingrained in your consciousness from an early age that the priests are superior. They’re saying mass. They wear

Seriously. They will just end up forming a Nun Mafia and breaking some kneecaps just by using the power of their Nun Death Stare™

Nuns are legit insane. One of my evil grandmother’s cousins went to Australia with her order back in the 1920s and they pretty much built a town. For, like, forty years they just built and built, and the last thing they built was their own retirement home.

Anyone who went to Catholic school knows nuns aren’t to be fucked with.

It’s clear to me that the utterly unhinged reactions this movement is causing on the right are a sign of just how threatened they are by it. This didn’t happen with Las Vegas or Orlando, but now you have people who really ought to know better throwing out this nonsense. I’ve been getting the distinct feeling that we

Seriously. People (correctly) complain about the left’s lack of messaging/PR ability, but the right is really trying to outdo them on this one. The best thing they could have done is just issue some vague “glad to see these kids exercising their 1st amendment rights, ect” kind of statement and then just shut the fuck

These kids are all so, so impressive. And what’s most remarkable is that they’ve managed to not react with rage and a slew of curses to these accusations. Which would probably be way more satisfying and would be entirely justified, but they’re all too smart and motivated to let anything so baseless stand in their way,

Now playing

The long version of this lady trying to clean while being thwarted at every turn by pandas is one of my feel-good go-to videos.

GIF PARTY!

LOOK AT THE GOOD ROLY POLY BEARS. WHAT A GOOD BEAR.

Based on my alcohol intake since November 8th 2016, it looks like I’m gonna live forever.

I do the same thing. I make a point to go to all of my classrooms before the start of each semester and determine what the best course of actions would be if we had to flee or shelter in place. The really scary thing is that doors in most of our classroom buildings don’t lock, and they open outward so they can’t be

Oh my god, like there’s anything dangerous about keeping 60 guns in the hands of untrained people around 3000 kids, 8 hours a day, 180 days a year.
Nobody could ever get hurt in that scenario.

I teach at an elementary school. Per policy, my door is locked all day, and we all have a black cover on our door window that can be rolled down and secured so the room looks empty. I hate that this is a thing we need to worry about.

Can we make this a Best in Show meme/gif a -thon?
