I think we already know the answer to the question. No. It won’t live up to the hype. How could it?

Well the original nerf was to keep him from being a tank shredder. Increasing rate of fire on fan doesn’t increase his damage from the fan, it only lets him reliably kill squishies before they get away. So I think this was the best adjustment they could make and should be fine.

I’m really surprised they rebuffed McCree’s fan fire.

“Now that this international crisis is over,”

Kotaku hasn’t earned the right to be this snarky because it is over-sensitive special snowflake SJWs that they support which have brought gaming to this point and it is one of their number that started this whole “controversy” in the first place.

What is hilarious is that

I’ve never thrown around the SWJ moniker before, but I honestly cannot take anybody seriously who thought that the pose was problematic.

Of all the stances to take on women’s representation in mainstream media you make the biggest stink about a pose; that if Kim Kardashian did naked and posted to instagram, would be

More like the systematic sexism that allows weak women to complain about things that go totally unnoticed when they happen to men.

Honestly, I didn’t see anything wrong with the first pose, as I thought it meshed well with the character. This one nice as well, but if it’s meant to be a held pose, doesn’t make much sense. (If I would have done this design, I would have gone with a pose similar to the original, with both feet on the ground, but

Surprisingly, her ass is not detachable. Therefore any time she’s shown from behind, her behind is shown.

Yeah, but big shirtless guys with muscles are a “power fantasy” for men, not an unrealistic standard of beauty. See, when a man sees another man portrayed as a sex object, it vicariously fulfills their inner desire of being objectified.

At the staff meeting, “We have had a lot of complaints about the butt pose for this character. Does anyone have any ideas for a new pose that will satisfy our players?”

Ok look, it’s still a butt pose, only with a more “school girl” personality to it. Original complainers should still be mad, if not more, even though the first pose still had nothing wrong with it. People are dumb.

This is the inverse of that, still pretty perfect.

Gets a 3/10 for me because 3 looks like a butt.

Somewhere at Blizzard there’s a few animators who either A) already had this animation sitting around and had the designers change a line in the settings or B) figured “Why are we pandering to this bullshit” and figured they’d have fun with it anyways.

Love it, its both sexy and fun which is what I feel for tracer.

Gotta’ say, I think the new one is far sexier.

Now she shows off her butt in a spunky and fun way that totally fits the character.

Considering that this is better anyway (it really is), why did they even have to go and respond to the whining to begin with? Could have been a quiet, background change, everyone would be happy, and neither the “if I say I’m offended I get my way” nor the “ERMAGERDS CENSORSHIP” crew would have been given the voices

Those are truly great words. I don't have any problem with a race diversity inside a game, but if they added because people started bitching about it it just feels wrong and forced.

I'm of the belief artists (i.e. game designers) should have artistic privilege in how they envision their games. The same way as any painter, author, etc envisions their worlds. It upsets me to no end when people come screaming, "but I'm not represented in a way that I see myself!!!!!" Therein lies the problem.
