Depressingly plausible.

Don’t ask questions. Just put the damn Zion head in there.

Its beak is the length of the photo, where the fuck would you put the head at?

I guess. I just think that if a person keeps burning people alive, and telling her friends that she’ll burn them alive, too, if they are ever disloyal, then you might have an authoritarian strong(wo)man who A) is insecure, and B) likes burning people. Even a season or two ago when Tyrion was appointed Hand of the

People named their daughters after her.

No the bells didn’t make her do shit.

So we are just gonna ignore the fact that the whole reason Dany has to invade westeros in the first place is because her family was violently deposed and essentially wiped out of existence by the very people she is burning out of kings landing?

Rewrite the history? Lol. The entire show starts because the Baratheons and Lannisters take kings landing and murder all the targaryen. That is literally the genesis for the entire show. Now you say she has “no reason” to burn the city and by extension the lannisters becsuse you got the warm fuzzies for her over the

Finally someone who gets it rather than whining everything doesn’t make sense when the plot doesn’t go the way they wanted it to go.

It’s almost like the show deconstructs the stupid narrative of “arcs”. People are rarely redeemed in real life. People don’t have closure. People don’t have tidy endings where they reflect on their deeds. They live everyday like they will live forever and then one day they die.

It’s like they think that a character can only have a complete arc once they’ve boned a dude. Arya’s story never required her to sleep with anyone. Brienne’s could’ve, if there was a point to it past shitty fanservice.

That was not what the show was telling you about Daenerys.

I find it difficult to reconcile the people who praised Martin for subverting so many of the tropes of genre fiction with the people complaining “they undid Jaime’s arc.” If you want neat and tidy character arcs that fit traditional concepts like “redemption,” there are plenty of stories that will deliver that.

She’s been getting crueler and more focused on the throne as an end despite the means for a while now. Then in the last few episodes she lost Jorah, another of her children, Missandei, and her claim on the throne.  Oh and the love of her life betrayed her and made it clear they couldn’t be together romantically

Every character on the show is an imperialist.  They live in a monarchical world.

I agree everything you’re saying, but I think most people aren’t giving enough emotional weight to the dinner at Winterfell. She sacrificed half her army “for the people” and everyone treated her like a party crasher.

Dany has always been an imperialist. It’s incidental that her ideals dovetail with our progressive ones.

I just laugh at the people still in denial last week, thinking Jamie was riding off to kill Cersei. Like I know the writing’s been so bad, but at least pay attention; They weren’t being subtle about Jamie’s state of mind.

So many people died because of Jon’s selfish refusal to do incest. I will never make that mistake.

I think depictions of what we would today call war crimes should be jarring.
