I think the new engine is better, but they rode the old one for well over 10 years. Thing is bulletproof reliable, but Toyota basically sold the exact same Tacoma for 12 or so years.

You really don’t need a V8 with these trucks anymore. The 2.7 ecoboost can trailer most things, and the 3.5 is actually pretty freaking quick and sounds amazing. It will tow your house. If you keep it out of boost you can manage 21-22 mpg easily.

Uh, an F-150 is gigantic compared to a Tacoma even if the Taco has gotten pretty big itself. I have a lifted Tacoma on 33's and I laugh every time I climb into an F-150. Its a true land yacht
