Just put the summer tires back on, but I’m already looking forward to next Nov/Dec when I can do some snowy roadtrips again.

BMW was/is a sponsor. Not sure if they’re “the official car of”, but they are a sponsor.
i was there a few days ago and made this sappy photo with my friend
Walking through San Francisco a couple months ago. A homeless man standing in between the lanes had some chunk of metal and was trying to toss it in front of car tires to pop the tires. The first car saw what he was doing and drove around, so he picked up the metal and dropped it in front of the rear tire of a box…
Pretty sure new BMWs do this as well.
the fun comes from the surprisingly swift and constant acceleration you get from 1500 to 4000RPM in a diesel turbo. i haven’t driven a lot of diesel cars, but the current 2.0L diesel turbos in BMWs are spectacular. I’d definitely consider buying one in the US if they were available. 180hp, 280tq, 40+ mpg.

yep, you’re right.
They were real M3s, fresh off the assembly line. I too wish they were simply kitted-out F30s, but it’s probably more expensive in the long run to change body panels on a bunch of cars just for a few hours of filming.
17s vs 19s... they must’ve changed the brakes though because even the steel brakes only have a tiny bit of clearance with the 19s.
I can confirm that BMW provided the movie people with 15ish identical M3s, because I met one of the product placement people and got to photograph one of the cars when I went to Munich a couple weeks ago.
Same. Rented a car in Wales for 4 days, and the first day I hit the curb a few times. The wheel was not happy.

the iphone 6 can shoot 720p video at 240fps. that means smooth (30fps) playback at 1/8th speed.
the alpina B6 actually has an upgraded version of the M30B35 motor found in the E28 535i(s) rather than the S38B35 found in the E28 M5.
if snapchat is worth $19B, tesla can be worth $75B.
this version looks "cool", but it's lost nearly all of the elegance of the original evora.
averaging seeing about 5 bentleys a day in london.
agreed. i've also thought this, especially about the white, silver, and blue versions, since they're basically "two tone" with the black. the all-black one, however, will look less dated.
i love seeing high-end cars in rally trim.
