It seems all he does is taking 3D models out of the internets (+1 if he model stuff himself), then he uses a software to generate layers (just like 3D printers do), cut these layers in cardboard, pile/glue them, and glue the faces in top of everything to give a smooth look. I mean, you can assume that from the photos.
