Typical french self loathing on Flavien’s part. Source: I am an expat in France.

You’re right. The producer was actually the singer, I think.

Well again, no, those historic teams design their own chassis in-house. That’s the whole point I am trying to make.

In that case yes. If the feat is “scoring on race 1 starting from scratch” then no. They had a turn key power train and a solid head start on the chassis.

Fair point for HRT. Cat’ and Marussia contracted some aero work outside, they still didn’t buy a ready made chassis.

No they didn’t try the same thing at all. HRT, Marussia and Caterham designed their own chassis. Toyota designed not only their own chassis, but the whole car, gearbox and engine included.

The unanimity against you in these comments is astounding. You’re such a fan boy caricature, it’s hilarious man.

Thanks for reminding me why I despise the VW scene.

His original chassis that season was named Kate. He crashed it real good and it had to be replaced. The new tub was Kate’s dirty sister.

I became a member of the Bongard Club and owner 6 ft of guardrail on Germany’s most famous “road” while totaling my my beloved Miata. That was a costly lift.

I liked Wes’ work. Care to explain your comment? I might just be missing parts of the story here, it’s a genuine question.

Those cars have AC by regulation. I think it’s meant to channel the air in the intake behind.

It does feel like a “Oh shit” moment, when the engineers realized that the mirror was obstructing the flow in that big air intake behind. I mean, neat workaround for sure, but workaround nonetheless.

Homage.

That video reminds me of my track prepped Miata with a broken front sway bar end link, on the wet. Snap oversteer everywhere.

Exactly. Which is why, with a different set of rules, 90s touring cars started the trend of super low profile tires. The idea there was to fit the biggest brakes possible, thus having the biggest rim possible.

STFU

Doesn’t the North American M4 get the same extra weight then? I mean, it surely has the same fancy seats and HiFi?
