While Scotland is to the South in the UK, it looks like the snowy region up top may represent the country in Galar.

Saying that Scottish English is “written phonetically” is like saying American English is “written with the ‘u’ taken out of some words”. It’s not some cute quirk, it’s literally its own language. Those are real words. That is really how they are really spelled.
I really assumed about 25, reading through this. But one year older than me? I had a Nokia phone and texted with it regularly in my late teens. Did she start at about 20 with a Sidekick, maybe? Or, maybe it’s just a side-effect of the Apple ecosystem that spoils its users out of any real tech-savvy because everything…
What’s weird is that you’re around 37 and having difficulties that I would have expected from someone 10 years younger. It’s also weird that you work where you do and no one just grabbed an old laptop for you and slapped some user friendly version of Linux on it for you.
Exactly. The great lie is that we need to be protected from the perspectives of other ages, or to judge them outright, rather than engage with them and try to understand what they can tell us about the human condition. It’s true that a great deal of what’s in that book no longer squares with our collective morality,…
I don’t understand why so many people think a show has to be “fun” for it to be good. I used to be one of those people, but watching Eva helped ease me out of that opinion. I loved Evangelion so much that I stayed up from like some time at night until 9 AM watching the whole show from beginning to end. I just could…
My Jinx has a move called Double-Edge, which kills most things pretty quickly, especially with the amount of stat-enhancing candy I’ve fed him.
I’m not really a pokemon fan, but I’m glad to see that they are in their pokedex number order.
“nipples are erotic”
Buy rechargeable AAs and get over yourself (all xbox AA haters/idiots). You can buy the rechargeable pack (as mentioned in the article) or better yet use standard rechargeable AAs and have even more freedom. (Amazon Basics or Eneloops are today’s go to brands, just get the standard ones that have more charge cycles).…
I’ve been using the same four rechargeable AA batteries since the Xbox 360 era. Spent maybe $18 for the kit, it’s all lasted me more than ten years, and I don’t have to worry about battery disposal. When the two in my controller die, I just swap them with the two full ones waiting in the charger. You, too, can be…
I actually finished this one again on Friday - the first time not on my original PS2 disk. It’s an absolutely wonderful game, and though I’m been openly biased on saying this, I think many (though not all) of its faults have merit. The story is meandering, but it gives the game this really neat sensation of being on a…
for anyone who can actually type or does actual work, the touch bar is garbage, a gimmick, and gets rid of being able to find very important function keys.
“... Touch Bar has not been updated and is thus still outdated and expensive for what it is.”
The only reason I use the touch bar is for actions previously assigned to the function keys. In the first week I tinkered with customizing the bar on desktop and in certain apps, but I’ve since basically forgotten it’s there.
The Dillon’s games are produced by Nintendo and developed by Vanpool, a small Tokyo studio that in 2006 released the most remote of Zelda spin-offs, a sidescrolling action-adventure called Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland that stars the weird map-seller from Wind Waker.
Pretty misleading headline. Something more accurate would be “I used beta software for my main productivity devices and then was surprised when I ran into bugs.”
Some useful info gets back, but honestly, it’s nothing compared to getting a well-written report from an actual person. For something like an Apple OS release, they’re going to get more analytics back than they could possibly ever process, anyway. Somebody who tries out a beta but doesn’t submit any feedback is just…
Betas are a bad idea for 99.9% of regular users, especially from a company that is known for not so great software and massive bugs with released code. I really expect a lot more from Apple and their gazillion dollar war chest. Case in point https://barefeats.com/directx_versus_metal_2.html that is laughable…
No offense, but maybe the title should have been:
