Oh man, VVVVVV is fantastic. So many brilliant ideas in such a small package, I loved everything about that game while being fully aware of how terrible I was at playing it.

I like to press X three times, then hold Y as I rotate the analog stick. So satisfying.
No Virtual Console at launch, but there's definitely an eShop because there are several digital-only games confirmed for launch day (Little Inferno, FAST RMX, Human Resource Machine, I am Setsuna, Shovel Knight, and World of Goo).
We got about two scenes into this episode before I rolled my eyes and said "Okay, William is not allowed to die in this episode" which I knew even before the breath left my lips was as good as shutting the casket myself. What a wonderful hour of television this was. So much joy and intrigue and drama. I was hooked on…
My D&D group still plays in person, though that means our sessions are few and far between because we have jobs and children and whatnot, but as soon as I saw the "Wizard" game in 1-2-Switch on the game's Japanese website I KNEW that I need to bring it to our next session (we had originally had a game planned for…
I'm still hoping for Mother 3 to pop up on the Switch with virtually no fanfare within the first month of the system's release.
It's my fiancée's birthday this weekend, so I doubt there will be much game-playing, but we are both hooked on Fire Emblem Heroes, so that's an inevitability. She's already burned through Hard and is starting on Insanity, I'm just happy grinding my heroes up to the high teens in the training tower while we watch…
I lucked onto a 5* in each of my first three summon sessions and yes, they are so much more confident in battle than everybody else. My 5* Tiki is basically unstoppable and I never go into any Arena fights without my 5* Kagero, though I am also extremely fond of my 4* Cecilia and my 5* Lilina.
Same here. My team were all over 60, playing on Easy (there are no Achievements on Wii U and I have nothing to prove) but the fight still took me between 45 and 60 minutes. I also totally forgot that I had Clap Tracks at all so I spent several turns just grinding smaller attacks waiting for my SP to build.
Can you turn it off in Yoshi's Wooly World? I don't think I've ever played a stage of that game without first seeing two or three drawings of cartoon genitals. Really breaks the wholesome and laid back vibe of that entire game.
Then either someone redrew/reposted it themselves or Nintendo still populated the game with content from the pre-release Miiverse, because I never reposted that to the retail game's Miiverse community (unlike Super Mario Maker where I wound up posting a bunch of stages twice because I liked the ones I'd made in the…
"Y cant Metroid crawl" will live a long and healthy life.
Agreed, one of my favorite things about Splatfests was looking up in the sky and seeing all the neon depictions of Miiverse posts. There was still a lot of immature and sometimes hateful junk posted, but there were plenty of fun and joyful Miiverse posts shared throughout the game, either over other players' heads in…
James's mic woes felt like a real insult, especially after Laverne Cox didn't even say the word "Metallica" in her intro but had plenty of time to ask viewers at home to Google an upcoming court case and use a specific hashtag.
Agreed. The dialogue of LiS is shockingly horrendous, but the overall story is so compelling you can often overlook the stilted and unnatural speech. Not always, but often.
I got the most play out of the F-Zero one, mostly because it had something resembling a single-player campaign and required using the GamePad in a somewhat untraditional manner.
Hmm, I was going to link to the old "The Digest" video of Teti and me talking about how much fun Game & Wario was, but the old video player seems to be broken (maybe it's just my connection? Here's the link, just in case).
The lack of video streaming apps doesn't bother me at all right now, since I have probably a dozen devices that play all those services readily available, four of which are currently on my home television and three of which are in my work bag every day on the train. They'll be on the Switch eventually, I'm sure, but…
I have had a Wii U with NintendoLand since launch day and I STILL have not played every game on that disc. I just never have anybody around who wants to play a multiplayer Pikmin arcade game instead of, say, literally anything else. It also doesn't help that Game & Wario is both a better tech demo for the Wii U and…
Cool to see so many Gamelogonauts wrapping up Tokyo Mirage Sessions this week! Inspired by all the posts about it the past couple weeks, I also dove into an old save file and replayed the final boss and epilogue this week. Man, that last fight is a rough one, but very interesting. My favorite thing about this game was…
