Downloading the two new games right now. The StreetPass Plaza games as a collection were probably my favorite video game of 2013 and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the new games follow-up on the ideas they started.

It's a D&D weekend for me (in the unlikely event anyone wants to follow along, here are my scribe's notes from our last session). Beyond that, I've finally sunk my teeth into Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars and this may be the weekend I finally get my girlfriend to play Journey. Looking forward to trying out the

Ooh, I like the New Museum, I was just walking past it last weekend. I didn't know about this, so thanks for the heads up!

I know that we've had a few off-site chats about our love of the first game. The week it came out, Agnello and I agreed that it's basically 2D sidescrolling SSX, which is everything we could possibly ask for outside of, say, a dating sim. I haven't heard from anybody about 2, but I've been loving it right up until my

This week included the birthdays of two members of my Dungeons & Dragons group, including our dungeon master, so we're having a weekend-long sleepover game session to celebrate because nerds. As such, I'll be sticking to portables to play during the commute and the wee hours of the morning when I'm awake before

The Losers was a comic book and he also was the voice of Casey Jones in the CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. I don't think anyone else has played so many comic book characters in the movies.

Yeah, that was sort of the double meaning I meant to suggest with "a different beast". They're not difficult, they're just clearly designed to resemble what one expects a video game boss fight to be, especially the last one, which homages a very specific boss fight I don't want to ruin for people who aren't keen with

I dunno, I'm pretty sure those four things at the end definitely qualify as boss battles, but they are absolutely a different beast (groan…)

I hate to throw somebody else under the bus, but that has to be an editorial rewrite. I originally wrote "VCR tapes" as the pixelated cases are indistinct and could be either VHS or Beta.

I agree with all of this, and I understand why these changes cause some people who loved the first game to dislike the new one. Part of my goal with this review was to express how those changes forced me to appreciate the characters and story more. If someone is looking for just the sheer thrill of running through a

Remember that Polaroid Jacket released into the breeze at the end of the first game? Yeahhh… It was surprisingly cathartic to see the scene where that photo was taken.

It is, and it's also the first level in the game. This is not a repeating activity. It happens the one time just to show you the disconnect between perceptions of reality within the game world. Sorry, Australia, but big ups to Dennaton for saying Australian's should just pirate the game, then, instead of edit it out.

Full wardrobe of Jupiter of the Monkey from The World Ends With You. Modern, practical, sharp, and powerful.

I admit to being bummed about the loss of the keyboard, as I was really excited to hunt one down a couple years ago along with the mythic rare copy of Rock Band 3 for PS3. I was one of the many, many people who just felt fatigued by the whole scene when Rock Band 3 hit, so I kept playing RB2. I understand that

Also by Jonathan Eng (who wrote "Anna"), the many of the songs in The Sailor's Dream are magnificent. "Friday", in particular, gets me choked up very nearly every time I listen to it, though I'm pretty sure the songs aren't quite as emotionally poignant if you aren't familiar with the game's narrative.

It was definitely one of the ones we talked about during the pitch. Gerardi was concerned that he had already written about the song for a WAYPTW not too long ago. That said, feel free to throw in a link to the song on YouTube and your own write-up, it might make it into Keyboard Geniuses tomorrow!

The Ultron revolution is underscored by a chorus of hard disk drives performing a cover of "Dead Man's Party"
