That is a wild and frankly offensive generalization of small businesses based on a few bad apples in the news. Please enlighten us how you were oppressed by all the small businesses in your community.

Republicans and government overreach? I’m shocked.

It’s wonderful when bigots pretend to be members of an oppressed minority just to launder their bigotry. No one believes you are a brave gay feminist - try again.

I wonder if this post will age as well as a German’s diary about Jews in 1937.

the implication that trans people are not being discriminated against on the basis of being trans is transphobic at best.

we would simply like human rights. but governments seem intent on taking those away. you see the issue here is that trans people refuse to be silent when it comes to the stripping away of our rights, liberties, and freedoms, and for some reason, that is upsetting to you.

this is an incredibly transphobic rant, and i hope you feel bad for typing all this out on al gore’s internet.

point at the last op-ed or coverage we did for rowling. i’ll wait.

that’s exactly my point. you have the freedom to choose. i hope that we choose not to support rowling.

does making vulgar comments back at her work make you any better?”

Huh. On my first day of J-school they told us not to use the Oxford comma. They also taught us - maybe not on the first day - not to repeat a racial slur unless necessary for context. It’s interesting that you avoided using a specific example of a homophobic slur but were completely comfortable dropping a racial slur

Calling someone ignorant then messing up the straw/camel’s back metaphor so badly that you call yourself a snowflake on the way out the door is just a*Chef’s kiss* level use of the internet.

“No I’m not a phobe of any kind I just don’t see it the way most do. I’ve also seen this group bully people into it or just straight bullies people I’ve lost respect for the cause.”

I’m sorry, but I can’t take seriously the argument of someone who uses the word ‘strumpet’. Not that you made a serious argument, of course. But had you done so, strumpet would’ve killed it for me.

There’s a lot of dog-whistling and Motte & Bailey involved in her transphobia.

I currently live in the UK (and have for the past decade). This country went from being relatively tolerant of trans rights (treating it as a private issue where it was seldom news-worthy) to hostile (trying to close down the one gender clinic and frequently being in the news). And a lot of it had to do with Rowling

I would argue that Dr. Pershing — and maybe the Gideon-related crew generally — is certainly part of Mando’s world, and on a strictly “season plot” level, that episode is a catch up for characters we know and, if nothing else, the first mention that Gideon has escaped and has his sticky fingers in the New Republic

Remember Dr. Pershing? Remember Lizzo? Did those really add much in the end?
