I’m pretty handy. Five months ago I replaced the radiator fan assembly in my wife’s 2015 Pathfinder.

Neutral:

So, when are you heading to Chicago to pick it back up?  You know you want to....

I live in Spring Hill, TN but have nothing to do with the GM plant here. People seem pretty pissed (understandably so) about the third shift loss.

WFH has been great for almost three months, now. My company has some plans to allow up to 50% back in the office starting next week. But, if you do not want to, you do not have to and can continue working at home.

I’m in this exact same boat. I commute 30 miles each way. I can plug in and charge for free at my office. I’d love to have a truck for weekend fun and occasional hauling for projects. But, the cost and mileage right now outweigh that need. I can rent one for when I really need one.

Ziplock bags! This is what I came here to post. One of our kids was car sick TWICE this weekend. Both times, she got it ALL into ziplock bags. As long as they’re old enough, this is the way to handle a car-sick-prone kid (or adult!).

I wouldn’t say he’s an idiot. He is definitely an asshole (look at how he treated his first wife), but I don’t think he’s an idiot.

My neighbor is a district sales rep for Audi. He’s usually traveling to the various Audi dealers 50% of his time. He’s now at home until further notice. He said this week has been so slow, he’s not even sure what he should be doing while sitting at his computer. Cars aren’t moving so he has nothing to do.

Checking in from Spring Hill.  Can confirm on the traffic and housing prices in the area.  Totally not awesome.

Something similar happened right by where I live a few years back. Fuel truck driver struck the middle support for an overpass that had JUST been built (not sure it was even open yet) and the resulting explosion and fire did so much damage the overpass had to be rebuilt since the beams had taken so much heat it was

Hey, while we’re talking wrenching failures, I had one over the weekend!

Here’s the article discussing the improvements to the concessions at the Nashville airport. Some new locations are opening this year, but the overall project is not slated to be complete until 2023.

I’m not an engineer, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn last night.

Yeah, sometime just knowing the steps is enough to determine the ROI on my time vs a pro’s time.  If I can do it, but it takes 12 hours when a pro can do it and 2, I may just pay for that guy’s two hours of time.

I’ve always been a tinkerer. Recently, we moved into a new house with more garage space. So, I’ve been taking advantage and doing repairs that I would have previously outsourced because I didn’t have room, correct tools, or time. Now I have more of all three.

#2: This. So much. I have a cousin who works in HVAC for himself. Of course when my family needs HVAC work done, they call him. And pay him. Granted, we get a family discount of course. But, they still recognize he is spending his time and skills doing what he does for a living.

It worked. Thank you.

It worked. Thank you.

I picked up a used 2015 Hyundai Genesis fully loaded 3.8 about 18 months ago. I love it as my daily driver. The only two issues with it are the stupid front blinkers burning out and the weird “flutter” that’s been attributed to the drive shaft at between 20 and 30 mph. It’s not really a problem, just an annoyance.  My

Same here. A few years ago, I was offered a new position that paid very well bur required us to relocate. At the time, my wife had a very good job, too. It was a tough decision, but ultimately we decided it was worth a try so we moved, I took the job, she stayed home with the our less-than-one-year-old twins.
