I’ll be in the market for a new vehicle in about three years. I really want a truck, but my daily commute is too long to justify having a truck as my DD.

Nashville, TN is getting a bigger following of Pickleball. It’s awesome! I played this obscure sport while in high school in Missouri. I’m glad to see it is becoming a “thing” in the city I now live.
2nd Gear: I live in Spring Hill, TN. Lots of UAW folks were headed to the UAW hall this morning to vote on the proposed package. I’ve heard from several of them that they were not a fan of it, but I did not get any details as to why.
No Jeeps? David Tracy will not be taking up scuba diving.
I think it’s 3% of their healthcare costs. Not 3% of their income. Big difference.
My current commute of 32 miles, one way, is the longest I’ve had. I’ve been doing it for 6 years now with no plans to change. I drive into Nashville from south of the city every day at about 5:15 AM. It takes about 35 minutes.
2015 Hyundai Genesis. The front turn signals burn out VERY quickly due to an engineering flaw where the wiring harness is setup for the two-pin bulbs and but the current goes to the bulb constantly and too-high so the bulbs burn out and cause the inside of the harness to burn up, too.
Thanks!
Thanks!
How long do these things charges last with just sitting in your car somewhere? I may not need it for a year or two. Do I need worry about periodically taking it out and recharging it?

Your Nissan CVT comment gained you a star from me. I had a 2012 Altima. CVT started acting up. Nissan could not figure it out. I dumped that car post-haste.
We are starting to look for a replacement car for my wife and I’m fighting the same battle, trying to get her to like Kia or Hyundai. I bought a used Genesis a few months back and that has helped. But, she just does NOT like the face this is still a “Hyundai” while my car is a “Genesis.” She’s starting to come around,…
Real question: Why would someone go to the ER when the suspect bronchitis? ER’s are for emergencies. I just got over bronchitis myself and while I did feel horrible, the two times I had to get medical attention for it was dealt with at a convenient care clinic.
$10 per person, per day tip is insane. When I travel with my wife and two kids, there is no way I’m tipping $40 to have my bed made and fresh towels left in the room.
When the Supersonics moved to Oklahoma City, they became the Thunder because of the “thunderous noise” that the test flights produced. At least that was the working theory on some podcast I recently listened to. 99% Invisible podcast, if I remember correctly.
I read that sentence in a Christopher Walken voice in my head.
I was on CrashPlan as well. I just switched to using Amazon Glacier for my cold storage. It’s a little more tricky to get going, but it’s worked well so far. I believe they offer the ability to send in an external drive to seed your backup. I did not do this, but it seems I remember reading that it was an option.
I just recently revamped my approach.
Here in Nashville, we refer to the shitty Titans’ logo as “the flaming thumbtack.”
The article was good advice, especially around getting a mortgage. But, I feel it missed the heart of the question: how much does the OTHER stuff cost?
Related: I have been using Overdrive’s audiobook app, Libby. My library card allows me to rent audio books for free with it. I still have my Audible subscription because some newer books aren’t available through the library. I also listen to a LOT of audiobooks.
