Yep. The leftists hate Hillary and Obama more than they hate trump. And they hate democrats more than the gop. They think if they had control we would be living in a socialist utopia and blame women and POC for where we are now.

Yeah, unfortunately that is what we do. I don’t like it either and I think it’s a far area that we can criticize Obama for, but people don’t do it in any kind of nuanced way, which is not helpful and pointless really.

That’s one interpretation, but personally not true to the people I know and have experienced. A lot of women are willing to put up with a lot for a sense of security, and don did always provide that. And also, a lot of women have also been very mistreated by a lot of men, so they come to expect that that is normal.

Exactly. I don’t want to diminish anyone’s story. What’s hard about these kind of stories in particular, where it involves a whole family, is I think a lot of people, including probably myself, project their own shit on them and that colors their perceptions.

Mainly because the trump administration has decided the best way to rile up their base is to talk about illegal immigration. Don’t forget the first thing he talked about on the campaign trail was the wall.
