The problem with this reasoning is that it forgets that the writers are completely making it up as they go along at this point. “If Sansa wasn’t raped by Ramsay, she wouldn’t have had anything to do!”...except that the writers were entirely at liberty to create a storyline for her where she does stuff and is a badass

It would have carried the same weight for us, the viewers, because we had several seasons of Ramsay being Ramsay and his comeuppance from any character would have been glorious. But it wouldn’t have made as much sense for Sansa to be the one to do it.

For me, one of the biggest issues I had with the Sansa rape scene was less to do with her being raped but with how it was portrayed. Instead of focusing on the physical and emotional turmoil this is causing Sansa (the person being actively violated), the camera instead turns to Theon and his reaction to what’s going

Raape and threats of feature heavily in the books. Who can forget ‘pretty pia’ being put in the stocks ‘for the use of any man’. The problem with the show is that sexual violence becomes texture rather than plot point. Assumption of its happening. And yes we can say that medieval women who stepped out of role or got

Well it’s time for the comments to be swarmed by MRA’s and bigots, especially since there’s been a lot of ungreyings this week and a few trolls are gonna inevitably slip through the cracks. Remember folks, flag and dismiss these trolls when you see them.

I’m starting to wonder if it has something to do with substituting pop culture where religion used to be. And it feels weird for me to say that, as a longtime atheist. But if some people have a deep-seated psychological need to be, well, religiously devoted to something, and they fill that need with a particular movie

Funny, Gizmodo is in a Jill Stein bashing tizzy. Wonder who’s paying for this

HOW MUCH DID SHILLARY PAY YOU FOR THIS FAVORABLE COVERAGE?!?!

AC is life. Darktide had some of the best PvP of any game and the physics engine kept the gameplay fresh and skill based.

Asheron’s Call had some great things. The refreshing change of not having outdoor zones (After playing EQ 1), the fact that the devs put in new content every month without fail. The fact that the Devs actually logged in and got involved in events. The fact that the world frequently changed, with the seasons or

Starred for mentioning AC. Will always be in my heart.

Respect. I have yet to find an MMO that can hold my attention for that many years. I put serious time into UO, EQ 1, AC 1, DAoC, CoV and WoW. Most didn’t hold my attention more than a year or two, WoW being the exception at 4+ years, and that was mainly due to an excellent guild. Once the guild dissolved, I moved on.

I’m going to have to very strongly disagree with that one. Even if you disagree with Toffler’s conclusions, he turned futurism from pulpy sci-fi drawings into a semi-respectable field of study. Even when he was wrong, people respectfully disagreed with Toffler’s opinion.
