I've found the Encounters shebang to be pretty disappointing. If Wizards doesn't want D&D 4E to have a reputation as a simple battle simulator, they've gone about it the wrong way. It simulates the classic Dungeon Crawl well enough, though we already these other books that did that just fine.
Yeah, they're still readers. You think a statistician doesn't do a lot of reading? An actor? Maybe you're prioritizing one type of reading over others.
