Exactly. Don’t people remember the Ebola Reston outbreak? (which Outbreak is based on) We got super, SUPER lucky on that one.

Yeah, you have to do some serious sterilization before a wreck can be intentionally sunk to form a reef. They are cool, though.
So someone tried this (minus the Michael Bay ending) with a much smaller boat in St. Maarten. It was called “Da Boat”. Had a nice bar setup, cool light effects, a deck for dancing, a waterslide and pool.
I’m sorry that you had to do that. I had to euthanize mine on New Years’ Day. It was a long story, and God, I tried with that dog, but she wasn’t safe. I’ve only just stopped crying about it almost every day.
I want to put him in a flight to Saba, Dutch Caribbean. Smallest commercial runway in the world, sits on the only flat spot on the island and is edged by 100 foot cliffs. Landing on a calm day is exciting. Landing in a crosswind is terrifying. There’s never been a fatal accident since the airport opened in the 1960’s.
Nah, they still drive with those hubcaps. The rest of us steer clear. It’s kind of genius - definitely keeps anyone from getting close enough to scratch your car. I considered tricking out my commuter bike wheels like that to keep cars from passing too closely.
Which I guess explains why one of the best Bhangra dancers I saw at our Diwali celebration here was a white kid from California who went to school at the University of Toronto. Someone taught him well.
Caribbean islander here: we have loads of these little guys on island (Suzuki Carry trucks especially). They are great for hauling stuff around tight turns and through narrow alleys. But they are TINY inside. I’m 5'8" and can barely get my knees in under the dashboard. Also you are not going to go fast if you are…
I read somewhere that he serves on his local school board. I just love that image.
Yes. I ride a Liv (Giant) Val E. It’s European spec so doesn’t have a throttle. When I want more of a workout, or I need to go slower for some reason I’ll dial the power mode down to 1 or 2 as opposed to 4 or 5.
I remember Dan Savage using a similar line (and it might have been when he was a guest on Bill Maher’s first show, the one cancelled after 9/11). Some GOP politician was ranting about “the innocent children” and Dan Savage, deadpan, shot back “well, what about the guilty children, then?”
I also played on those in the 80's. Remember the shakey purple Grimace cage on springs?
I wish. Hospitals all use different electronic medical record (EMR) systems and those systems DO NOT “talk” to one another. Because, proprietary software. It’s infuriating, and IMHO leads to a lot of repeat medical testing, missed or delayed diagnoses, and tons of wasted money.
You clearly have not completed a PhD program. Murderous rage is pretty much what fueled me for the last few months.
Or they turn it inwards. I’ve lost 3 male friends in their 40's to suicide (and another one tried, but thankfully did not succeed) - 2 of these men had recently had a career setback. Looking back on it, nothing was so broken they couldn’t recover and find something else that worked for them, but I think they had intern…
My parents (70-something retirees) started on the Viking River Cruises and they loved them so much (even the trip down the Rhine where they referred to their boat as “the plague ship”) that they’ve graduated to Viking ocean cruises. They are cruising across the English Channel as I type this.
Ha. I got partnered off at 27. Widowed at 41, so I’m still gonna die alone.
Exactly. My dad loves him some lightly-used Buicks (and has access to a supply chain wherein he is always the second owner of a creampuff PeePaw car), but he also has always owned a well-maintained older pickup for work stuff. The pickups get replaced when they rust out ever decade or so, the Buicks get replaced as…
