Paizo and Wizards have gotten better about such things, but it's weird that PP has their fiction so far ahead of their art.

If you were talking Warhammer Fantasy I'd be exactly what you are looking for, but I've yet to take the 40k plunge. My experience is that I'll never ever catch up to people who've been doing it for decades, that if you haven't been doing it for decades the game changes way too quickly to catch up, and all the people

Canonically, the fantasy Brits are supposed to be pretty multi-racial and the Menonites more so, but you almost see that at the table.

It is a model that responds well to modding though, just because it's basicness is SO basic compared to its crazy story.

I suspect this was as much a problem of learning curve as anything else. The general consensus has been very positive. It's a really cool system for a game where players should expect the system itself to be a challenge.

yeah, there's some cool work done in games for younger kids from legitimately neat education stuff like Robot Turtles to more conceptual stuff like Mouse Guard - both of which are pretty neat for adults.

Oh, there is most certainly a place for pre-painteds at the table.

Yeah, beautiful paint job there.

I certainly agree that the displayability could/should be higher, but the game itself (pieces, tokens, measuring devices) seems to have a lot of high quality externals.

Ok, you went in a very different direction with that.

Have you done Legendary card games series? It's an interesting idea for a game you essentially subscribe to, but it also means that breaking in once the game has been out for a while comes with sharp costs of research and/or lucre.

I suspect Armada will become more rational as a purchase as more gets released since then you'll be able to do some research and buy more or less what you want ala carte.

I'm really looking forward to getting into Armada, and while it's price point is comparable or cheap compared to other miniatures games, I'm not entirely certain what I'm getting out of it and the initial investment (probably around $200 for a really functional set, although splitting it between two people is clearly

Hmm, in the sense of having useful software to better enable tabletop play? WAAAY farther than we should be.

I started with the second issue and had real trouble picking up what was going on - missing some continuity makes a lot of sense.

That explains some tonal issues I had. I thought they were starting over for some reason.

Spoiler Alert: The arguments are about as repetitive as you might think.

Mmmm, ushers….

Acker and Blacker are writing a Flash Gordon title, is it in the same continuity?

I agree that there is a Golden Mean and I would, for instance, defend Lego's findings that boys and girls play differently and they should make toys that meet both needs, but, man, one problem seems much bigger to me than the other. That mileage could easily vary, but if someone seems to have just the one complaint
