That’s going to be really great in people’s airways.

You mean “do you really want to live where the temperature can plummet to 23 below zero?” Cuz fuck that noise!
I’m inclined to believe it’s likely you forced an issue that was already likely to be a risk for the big day. Would you rather have the suspected vacuum leak strike today or on the big day?
As owner of an older vehicle I very much want to keep a very long time, and in a very hot climate: the vehicle has an in-tank trans cooler. What’s your reasoning for not being a huge fan of the in-tank cooler?
You want to ask someone’s opinion about acceleration, ask top fuel dragster drivers. Ask Navy flight crews who literally use catapults to launch themselves off carrier flight decks. I would be curious to see their comparisons.
The whip antennas create more aerodynamic drag than other, more modern designs such as the sharkfin. What I wonder is: Why is the window-mounted antenna so rare? You can have your 31" of antenna out of the way of roof loading and with NO drag just by gluing the wire trace to a rear or quarter window.
Oh, is the mustang not a stick shift? It’s not? So you think you’re excited now, eh? Maybe you should swap that slushbox for a proper clutch & stick setup.
Often a good rest is the best sub-procedure. #HumanFactors
“Then they brought out a plane.” LOL! Was that a MIG-15 the technobarbarians brought out?!?
I think about climate change frequently as my hometown, Houston, has experienced a noticeable increase in flood event frequency and severity in my own middle-aged lifetime. The flooding is a consequence both of global and regional climate change as well as local development practices.
What automobile uses heat for defrost? Every one I’ve ever seen uses air conditioning and fresh air to defrost the windshield by blowing dehumidified air onto it.
Well done, Mr Tracy!
LOL, “#VanDemic!”
I like how this cartoon pays homage to Ed Roth’s Rat Fink hot rodder series.
I’m the original owner of my Mk IV Golf GL, BEV 2.Slow, and I still love the way this thing drives. I still love its design. VW’s Bauhausish designs from this era are some of the prettiest large volume production cars ever.
David, thank you for this informative deep dive! It really explains Ford’s strategy with the Bronco, why it’s interesting to consumers, and how it can compete with the Wrangler.
It can work. Here’s how it works for me. My wife and I both daily older cars, a 2002 Civic & a 2004 Golf, respectively. We have two kids, we both work, and we have an au pair who drives a 2004 V70 we acquired when she arrived. We have a 1993 Ford Club Wagon we bought off my parents, the original owners. I have a…
What does it mean to “safari” a vehicle? I mean, at that point you’ve already got it, so you’re not going out into the bush to find it, right?
But what about having all the mass of those motors in the wheels? Won’t that be terrible for handling? Won’t having the motors isolated from every bump in the road by only the tires be terrible for motor longevity?
This, particularly option #2. I have a boat and it’s way more convenient to leave it where I use it than to schlep it back and forth every time I want to use it. So don’t even think about getting a tow vehicle unless you know you want to take the boat to a bunch of different bodies of water. Now having said that, I do…
