I suspect part of the mishmash nature of Phase 4 is that they are trying to figure out what to do with the X-Men and Fantastic Four, including their villains. I’ve heard rumors that Doom could be the Black Panther 2 villain but surely he is too good a character for just that story. Galactus will almost certainly be

To be clear, I’m not at all defending the U.S. health care system, which is awful.  But I wonder how much those Brits pay in income tax each year, among other taxes.  From what I looked up, the basic rate is 20%.  Living in Florida, I don’t pay any income tax.  You pay up for health care one way or another.

Honestly, Phase 4 seems like a mish-mash of films with no particular story behind them.  I think Marvel just wants to play around with different ideas for awhile after the Infinity War challenge and bank on the idea that the accumulated goodwill and quality of the films will draw people to them until they start with a

It is kind of weird that the Trumps haven’t even pretended to have a dog for publicity purposes.  I kind of agree with Joe Biden when he recently said that we need a dog in the White House again!  To be precise, we need a dog and a cat in the White House - cats are sorely underrepresented as Presidential pets.

Or perhaps more importantly, would they be willing to spend more money or any money to pay for the extra security? I bet a majority would not.

Your mileage may vary but I didn’t find it that distracting.  It helps that De Niro and Pacino never really play young men, just men in various stages of middle and old age.

This is actually the least glamorous gangster movie of Scorsese’s career. The last half hour in particular is brutal in depicting the high cost of Frank’s lifestyle on his future, his family, and his sense of self.

Comedy in general, beyond deliberate short-term products, may be a bad fit for Netflix. Comedies often start out a little rough and feedback over time can help, which you don’t get when all the episodes come out for a season. And most great TV comedies had long runs with tons of episodes that fans can savor and see

I know it was a joke on Jonah Ray’s part but I really like the suggestion of going over to Shudder and working with Joe Bob.  There’s a lot of bad horror movies they could riff for cheap too.

When you’re in your late 50s like JBJ, lighting and angles can make picture quality vary widely. There are recent pictures of him that look a lot better. I respect that he’s gone grey naturally, which very few rock stars let happen.

It’s a real shame that Braxton’s type of R&B balladry is almost extinct nowadays, though singers like Lizzo are pointing to a possible new direction.

True, both their teams are mediocre.  But Yale and Harvard look a lot better on your resume than LSU does.

I imagine Falcone will be the non-costumed initial villain too, but it isn’t exactly a fresh idea.  Both major Batman film franchises before had gangster villains in the beginning before the costumed ones that fans really want to see come in.

No good suggestions for Ms. Summers as a Floridian (A coat, I guess? Visit Burlington Coat Factory?), but I will never feel much sympathy over GMG’s claims of financial issues with these websites when they insist on having their headquarters in Times Square.

They lost the rights to the Dark Crystal movie when they are the exclusive home for the (terrific) prequel series? I don’t get the logic behind streaming rights sometimes.

Not mentioned in this piece but in the Hollywood Reporter article is that the Nimona adaptation was given a January 14 2022 date, which seems to reflect a real lack of confidence in the property.

I give her kudos for putting a lot of thought and effort into this even if the bill is doomed. But there are major problems with sex work being legalized.

Yes, learning to do work and projects on your own is essential. That said, some kids develop those skills without needing to do homework. Unfortunately, homework is most necessary for the kids who are the worst at it and whose parents lack the time and/or ability to help them with it.
