Good point, it really does seem a bit weird. Cassidy couldn't suddenly fly either when Jesse commanded him to do so with the Voice, he just jumped against the wall.

Any other recommendations from that list? I have a bit of free time coming up.

TheMy problem with The BFG is that a load of people will get hyped for a movie about the Big Fucking Gun, only to then be disappointed that it's… well, not that.

We still mostly have those where I live. I was a bit astonished to find out they were not commonplace in other parts of the world (anymore).

It's probably best if you never know.

2008? Damn, time effin' flies. Felt like yesterday when the show came on the air. I never thought of it as a high point of television (not that I think it's actually bad, not at all), but something in it clicked nicely with me, so I do have a bit of a soft spot for it.

So we're moving on from all the GoT nonsense? Fantastic!

Even nutcases can reach the right conclusion, even if the reasoning they use to get there is, well, nuts.

True, but honestly, I don't think that's actually true. But yes, fair enough, he did indeed say (and likely believe) that.

That is much better put, yes. Thanks!

Oh yeah, at this point she's basically a Sith Queen Empress. She will not last long, and her downfall should hopefully prove satisfying and spectacular. Jaime certainly didn't seem very enthused with her in this episode, so I'm figuring her actions in this ep will be what puts the final nail in hers and Jaime's

Before the fall must come the rise, or not? Her position is highly unstable, for sure, but that doesn't mean she couldn't seize power in the moment.

Heh, I've commented something similar elsewhere around here, absolutely agreed. He was looking at the place where his mother's and maybe his fate were going to be decided that day.

It didn't go quite that far for me, but at some point the "you have a terrible mother and a manipulative wife" excuse for making bad choices definitely started to wear thin for me. Specifically, around the time when he went to see the High Sparrow with a bunch of Kingsguard minions and then just kinda backed down.

Yeah, I don't buy that Tommen was already contemplating suicide at that point just going by those shots. I think he just kept looking out that window at the Sept because that's where his mother's (and potentially his own) fate were going to be decided that day. Which it totally was, though differently than he'd

Yeah, I would be surprised (and not in a good way, I'm kinda done with that plot thread) if we see them again. A huge part of why the movement came about to be lay in its leader's charisma. With that gone, while there are still tons of disenfranchised and unhappy people around, they lack a person who can channel that

Yeah, I don't read that shot as him contemplating suicide that early yet. Unless I've misunderstood the geometry, the sept is visible from that window, so I took it primarily as him looking towards the place at which his mother's fate (and potentially his own) would be decided on that day. Which, of course, it was,

Yup, same for me. It wasn't perfect by any means, but I was much more entertained by this season than by the last. S5 mostly (not exclusively, but mostly) seemed like a filler season to get the pieces into place for this season, at least to me. Which some people might say about this season as well, I suppose.

Jaime made some remarks about this in his scene with Edmure a few episodes back if I remember right, stating that Cersei's and Catelyn's motherly love goes further what one would usually expect, and both of them go above and beyond what most mothers would do to protect their children.

"This one clearly won't do, she's not doing the tummy rubbing correctly and is even more insane than I am. I shall take measures to rid myself of this minion."
