Doing a rewatch and came across this article well after the fact…but I didn't see anyone address this point :)

PCP is absolutely an ad…that was the whole reveal at the end, it shows him pushing Leslie on a swing in that photo we saw, but then it pulls out to reveal that photo was part of a State Farm ad.

Yeah I kinda got the same impression too…it feels like the overall arc this season is that the town is becoming so PC, that the PC-ness itself is having exactly the same effect as their extreme non-PCness had before. It was OK for a pilot, but I'm worried that the show is more of an SNL skit than a 20-episode season that has a chance at getting picked up for a second season. I don't know how long it'll be till the laser-pastel Miami Vice aesthetic wears thin, and the paper-thin characters and obvious jokes become more apparent.

Yeah the death scene at the end was very Metalocalypse-like…though it made me just wish the show would either go all the way, with Metalocalypse-style death and destruction following Dazzle wherever he goes, or just keep the violence 80s-cartoony
