I really don’t like how we have to talk about manuals like a guilty pleasure now. No, they’re not stupid, or bad, nor should you feel bad for not yet knowing how to operate one. They’re simply an option for those who prefer them. Some people use a percolator, some prefer a french press.
An auto being better than a manual at any price point is completely subjective. Personally I would always prefer to row my own, even if it's slower.
I'll just throw it out there that a dsg needs a service every 40k miles that usually runs between $300 and $500. A manual needs gear oil.
A manual is not that big of a pain in traffic. Until very recently I've had a manual in my DD (added too many go fast parts to my Toyobaru to make it a practical DD). I kinda miss it & still go for the phantom 3rd pedal in my Grand Cherokee.
Yes, exactly like a manual. Except no clutch pedal and about 100 extra lbs. If there is no clutch, ITS AN AUTO.
