I think the speed force is a bitch. See your mother murdered, go on to channel that loss into personal heroism and it kills your dad. Try to change that, and it kills them both again and then murders your girlfriend.

Yes, because you are a good person with principles, but bad people need principles, too. Really shitty principles.

Well, I guess you could say that loyalty to your employer is a kind of principle. I'm not saying it should take precedent over, for example, loyalty to your species or the biosphere or anything like that. Just that it's a kind of principle. You know, like Isaac and the Ram only with assholes.

Think of it this way: How many bears might be on the trail of a woman who, over the course of an entire reproductive lifetime, has had thousands, even millions, of periods? It's not like Bears give up easily, Dikachu. It could, realistically, be ALL the bears!

We sure did. Their periods attract bears, you know.

Talk about chest bursting!

Crewman: Okay, so we've got drones, little robots that map terrain, a central AI, long range communications…There's really no reason why we should even have to deviate from our established course. We could just wait here and send an automated shuttle with our sophisticated android to scan, survey and effect any

See? This bugs me. I work in a hospital. We have strict infection control protocols for dealing with HUMAN BEINGS on EARTH!!! And we STILL murder more people with hospital acquired illness than anything else.

My grandmother gave me 40K once and we used it to complete seminary, purchase my first home and have a child, my son, Thomas.

Well, given the general bent of the book, I don't see how you could live it out without becoming a tribalistic, ethnic-nationalist, misogynistic, patriarchal, superstitious ass bag. This could be breaking bad all over again.

If it injures me in any way, I will hold you personally responsible. Let's do this!

I don't know if there is an "art for art's sake". I mean, outside of aesthetic achievements sculpted by natural forces or whatever. Maybe Everest is art for the sake of art. You're right to say that it effects you and your community and right to comment on that in any way you see fit.

I hear you. I'm sorry for your loss. After reading your post, I thought that, maybe, the film might have something to say about the trauma and grief and fear worth hearing? I guess it's possible. The review makes it sounds a bit relentless, so maybe it is exploitative. I don't know. I doubt I'll be seeing it, though.

All good points. Sigh. Okay, dammit, I'll see it.

I admire your enthusiasm and hope you enjoy the film, but if that certain character is doing certain things with certain ends and aims, it sort of bums me out.

*Xenomorph lights joint, passes it to camera*

Not me. If what I hear about Covenant is true, I think Scott's lost the plot. Prometheus, though interminably dumb, was still sort of engaging in and around the engineers. Just rehashing Alien and Aliens beats makes me feel sort of Friday the 13th III in 3D about the whole thing.

Oh, no you don't.

Collaborate.

Boy, doesn't it, though? Webbed feet and toes, vestigial tail, little slow on the uptake…I mean, not "voted for trump" stupid, but no genius, amirite?
