Right? I had a similar experience with Duck soup last year. It's remarkable how well it's aged.
As for the stooges, I dunno, there are some funny bits (I vaguely remember a plot about getting a parrot out of a courthouse), but other than that it's mostly 5 jokes, rinse, repeat.
