That’s what I was afraid of. Such a shame. Io9 is (was?) my favorite website... A few weeks ago the main comment on a Star Wars article was the biggest possible spoiler for The Force Awakens, written by an actual writer for Gawker. I’m worried it’s just all gonna go downhill from there.

Well, boo. Recaps were my favorite thing about io9. Getting the chance to discuss the previous night’s shows with everyone. I guess we can still do them on observation deck. I volunteer to do Gotham. For one thing, I actually like the damn show. And if no one else wants to do Supernatural, I’ll do that one too.

I am seriously disliking the merger of io9 and Gizmodo more and more.

That is extremely disappointing, though not that surprising given the direction they’ve been going. I’d like to know the reasoning behind that decision.

They’re phasing out recaps,and will only be doing them for the highest rated shows. They’ve said blurbs like this is the best we’ll get for most shows.

Boooh! The recaps were awesome! After watching an episode I always checked repeatedly whether there was a recap on io9 already. They really should reconsider their stance on them.

Yeah they got axed in the great (read as terrible) merger between io9 and Gizmodo. Giz doesn’t do recaps so those are just out. I’m surprised to see this one actually.

Kinda unrelated question but... are all the TV show recaps gone/scrapped? I haven’t seen one in weeks and the few the were posted this year were 2 or 3 paragraphs long :(

They can both suck equally hard. Moffat was good at writing dialogue, and had some fun ideas, but I hate the direction he took the show in. Good riddance to him. Now, will Chibnall be an improvement? I have no idea but I’m going to keen to find out. Maybe he will bring back Captain Jack and do away with River…

My only objection to that episode was the ridiculously arbitrary Mickey/Martha pairing. It still annoys me all these years later.
