I think you have to be approved. I'd commented on Deadspin post-Kinjacalypse, and a comment I posted today went straight into the pending queue.

Exactly. People just need to be patient as the kinks get ironed out, but more often than not, the reaction tends to be foaming-at-the-mouth rage at the sight of change.

Yeah, I saw it on Deadspin. The whole Kinja system seems to be working much better in the full version, at least in my experience.

Yeah, that Slauson cutoff really is no joke.

It seems like the problem was caused by dropping the star system. Before, unapproved accounts had to get physically cleared by a user, and that meant all of these spam comments would sit there in the pink, unnoticed by most. It's a better way to stop spam in the first place, but it isn't compatible with what Gawker's

Mine was made in (I think) August of 2010, so it's not quite THAT old. While it has the pads, it still needs the slot, but it sounds like it would need more than that as well. I just figured I could maximize this netbook, since it's still pretty good and very much usable.

...I sit corrected.

I'll defer to the experts on this, because it's admittedly more than I'm comfortable with. tnkgrl added the mini-PCI-E slot to her Aspire One a while ago: http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/2008/10/28/modding-the-acer-aspire-one-hsdpa/

Nope, considering that Franco said his inspiration — nay, his muse — was Dangeruss.

Sure, if you want to get offed by the Russian mob.

Then let us commence the GIF party.

Can we just agree every team in organized football is racist and just move on?

WRONG. It's hurting my head. Right now. From lack of caffeine.

Tragedy will strike when McCarthy (who gets traded to the Twins and injures himself) stops by a local sandwich shop while on a rehab assignment with Minnesota's AA team in New Britain. Taking umbrage with Connecticut parlance... well, let's just say that after the dust clears, McCarthy suffers a torn eyebrow, which

I'm actually planning on that, using the hollowed-out carcass of a PS2 for the case. Originally, I planned on using a mini-ITX board or something like that, but a Raspberry Pi would probably be a better solution, especially since it won't cause me to shit bricks at the thought of what I'd have to do.

Hmmm... (strokes stubble) Developer boards tend to run Android at the exclusion of everything else... and if USB controllers are generally supported...

I would say "less stuff about Sugru", but it seems like you've already cut back on those posts, so I believe that officially makes you perfect. :D

Nah, Consumerist already elevated that to an art form, especially on the post that ended like this: "P.S. Starbucks is awesome. Playstation is awesome. Nintendo is awesome. Apple is awesome. Microsoft is awesome. Dunkin’ Donuts is awesome. Just wanted to prime the comments a little before we head into the weekend."

They're annoying when it's a badge from your bank's app that doesn't go away until you dig through the app to get to their alerts section... just to find something that was already in the notification in the first place. Not quite as annoying as the people who refer to users of a product as "sheep", but at least it's

If he's in a very bad place, I'm sure Pau Gasol could recommend some good neighborhoods: http://deadspin.com/5899315/blake-griffin-returned-pau-gasol-to-a-very-bad-place-with-another-posterizing-dunk
