Your logic and posts make no sense. There is no reason why you shouldn’t put your car in neutral while coasting to a stop. If your “logic” is that your are using more brake than using engine braking, therefore costing yourself money, then your method is spending a hundred dollars to save nickels. Clutch replacements

I don’t understand this logic. I coast in neutral all the time. Especially if I see a yellow light ahead.

If I have to change brake pads every 50,000 miles it cost me a fraction of a cent per mile, so I’m absolutely fine with “my money going to dust”.

This is the strangest argument I’ve ever read.

Engine braking doesn’t work too well going from 5 to 0 mph. Unless you mean the stalling of the engine helps slow the car down. Why hold the clutch in and wear the throw-out bearing longer than necessary instead of just shifting to neutral?

Over 40K miles, we’ve averaged about 8% more energy consumption that rated. For comparison, the last ICE car we drove in a similar way averaged about 20% to 30% more gas used than rated MPG.

A 30 mile commute is nothing. Traffic delays? If you’re not moving, you’re not using energy as you idle. The HVAC uses next to

My guess is, like anything else automotive, without a company preventing strictly controlling aftermarket support, a cottage industry catering to Tesla owners will develop, and open-source will replace closed source. Probably led by ex-Tesla people, either as a business venture or a hobby.

Why does the front end of this $250 000 car look like a Nazi people’s car from the 1930's?

A minimalist interior is much more preferred, a car is not your couch. The less things reminding you that you are in a packed box the better. All that it needs it to be comfortable and open and the Model 3 excels at that.

Nice to read an intelligent, informative article on Jalopnik.

I thought this was pretty cool, even though I don’t agree with his policies or politics and generally consider Barack Hussein Obama to be a total fucking ass-clown, and a failure.
