Little do you realize, we have crappy basketball, baseball, hockey, and soccer teams too! And for college, the Gophers have consistently let us down in multiple sports. Our only successful team is the Lynx (WNBA).
The US is very broad, there are multiple regions where winter driving is sink or swim. See: New England, Midwest, Rocky Mountains, and Pacific NW. Either way, this shouldn’t have any impact on the average Joe maintaining a safe distance from the plows. Cops are expensive, and very busy during storms.

So people either drive slow sans plow, or people drive slow and confidently behind the plow. Either way, they're not holding anybody up as much as the snow is...

Ya I don’t think these techniques are unique or new. They’ve been plowing like this for as long as I can remember...
On this day, we got 9-11", I assure you, these slow moving mammoths were appreciated. Nobody was getting to work on time anyway...
