Perhaps not, but I think that it does challenge the conventional wisdom that taking a photograph somehow equates to "I'll remember this," when in fact the opposite is most likely the case.

I doubt the participants were allowed to review the photo they took in order to bolster their memory at the time of the memory test - but that's the thrust of the study.
