They addressed that in their last post on Google Alerts, which I linked here because I was surprised it wasn't in the article, but apparently Eric decided he didn't like: http://lifehacker.com/five-creative-…

Yawn. This is ridiculous. There are a couple services that you can get really vested in - Gmail, Calendar, maybe Reader (though that was pretty easy to switch out of) - but most services are being used transiently.

Being left-handed, I prefer Moleskines over most notebooks for two reasons:

Paper quality and the ability to retain the "book" of your notes after the fact. Not everything I write is immediately dispensable. If your need is merely to doodle or make a quick list then agree, pretty much anything goes.

Why is cheapism the default assumption? Some people like things of quality. Value is more important than price.

As an avid drawer, I've got boxes full of various sketchbooks from over the decades. Sometimes, it doesn't matter what the book and paper look like, but normally it's simply more pleasant to write and draw in something nice.

I know that what I writte in one of this will be there in years if I need to look it over.

For some people, cost will always be the bottom line, and getting from point a to point b will always be the most important thing. That's fine! Stick to the dollar store spiral. I'm willing to bet a lot of people agree with you. :)

A lot of it is about durability and paper quality. I've found that the cheap dollar store ones fall apart on me, the spirals get flattened, the cover rips off. The paper in them is typically very thin tearing easily with lots of ink bleed.

For "gross indecency charge that led to him being treated with hormones" read "chemical castration for being gay". A truly abominable act by our Government and one I have campaigned for a pardon over for a long time (and not just by moaning about it on the internet btw, thought ive done plenty of that too).

Yeah! What we really need is more iOS articles! And more idiot commenters trolling articles on the internet!

And there would still be assholes making comments like this one. All in the name of being ignorant douchebags who don't like good things and try to ruin them for everyone else.

I have not used to many, personally but there are two that stand out to me. 1. We have a Fusion with the previous generation Ford Sync system (not the current one with user complaints and apps). It works very well and is plenty fast. A couple complaints are traffic updates require a Sirius subscription and

Have you tried the BMW navigation system with live traffic and HUD? Its just brilliant

My parents have one in their Infinity that seems pretty capable, although you're right about the updates being pricey. I actually prefer it to Google Maps in a way, as it's not quite so damn chatty. Then again, I haven't personally used it, so ....

Read them both, and believe the one you resonate with. They're tips, not unbreakable rules, and there's a reason I linked it in the opening sentence. :) A lot of people disagreed with me in that other article, so do what works best for you and your job search.

Try laundering clothes-washing US bills sometime. They do just fine.

High-end professional chef's often grill a steak only to char and grillmark it, then finish it in an oven. I don't do that either.

Perhaps this relevant portion of the linked article will be helpful:
"Of course, the proof with any theory is in the eating, not in the photos, and to be completely honest, the difference between the two steaks in terms of eating qualities is not huge. Small enough that when placed side by side in the island kitchen at
