Pressurized H2 is insane in vehicles. 10,000 psi and the smallest molecule leaks easily. A crack 1/4 as wide as a human hair becomes a 4' light sabre that you can’t see in daylight. For consumers it’s idiotic and a liability nightmare.

I hate to break it to you, but H2 tech evolved. The overhaul interval for fuel cells was abysmal in the era of those fuel cell buses (over 13 years ago). It’s now 30,000 hours. On par with the best turbine engines. Piston plane engines have a TBO of 2000 hours if you are lucky.

Poor youtuber idiots, failing to understand the laws of physics. A 9000lb SUV is not a hoonmobile. It will never be a good off road machine. It will get you down rough gravel roads all day long, but forget anything else.

Read Tesla’s history for losing money in the first few years. This isn’t news, it’s a normal spending arc for spending hundreds of millions on a startup. It takes years to recover and it is expected.

GM will mop the floor with Tesla with the new electric silverado. Because you can work on it and because it will support aftermarket parts. GM knows it’s customer and won’t lock it down. Same goes for the next generation electric F-150. Once they get their head out of their ass and build a dedicated electric platform

Not at all. Battery drain is higher on the highway because air resistance is higher. Electric motors LOVE rpm and are just as efficient at high RPM. A modern EV motor simply makes flat torque from 0 to 18,000 RPM and sucks no more power at high RPM.

This Volvo is likely a Geele under the sheet metal.

The 1984 Buick Reatta would like to have a word with you. Embrace the CRT touch screen and secret hidden engine scan tool.

An electric car making fake engine sounds? Hold on a second, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Repeat after me:

We need the media to advertise this what it is. High prices BECAUSE of a fuel shortage. And the (short term) answer is for an aggressive campaign designed to get everyone to cut back on fuel consumption. Reduce or eliminate unnecessary trips, work from home if at all possible or encourage companies to promote

Put a kill switch on your fuel pump for under fifty bucks including a very high quality switch and the misc bits and pieces to do so.

Never buy an adventure bike you aren’t willing to dump on it’s side and have a good laugh about it. If you can afford to do that with the duc, then sure. Why not.

H2 has double the power to weight ratio of diesel when stored in it’s cryogenic state. Perfect for a plane, fuel and go. But you need to build an electric plane anyways, the fuel cells are just a range extender. So Alice does move us forward.

Also, cost of operation. Alice is said to cost 1/5th that of a conventional aircraft to operate and maintain. That means short hop flights are going to be stupid cheap.

My old shop had the correct sign for this situation:

A touch screen for all the little menus you need to access when parked, sure. HVAC and many other functions used when driving need to be used by FEEL. The defroster is a safety device. Tesla has a touch button for the horn on the yoke steering wheel. What kind of hell came up with that idea?

But the eco buyer will be going straight for an electric truck now, at around 4-5 cents per mile.  Or 0 cents if you have a big PV array.

If there was any hope of importing and insuring that, I’d buy it and tesla swap it so I could daily it all summer.

5G has low enough latency to allow a remote operator to slowly navigate through a construction site or other obstruction. If you want real self driving it will be a subscription service and they’ll simply have one operator babysitting 50 self driving cars. If one gets in trouble it will wait and ask for help.
