I'm still waiting on a Switch release for Stardew Valley and Hollow Knight.

I replied to the wrong post, but please see my response to 'Tis for a great piece on the localization of FFXII.

I think the most interesting thing is that Larsa was actually voiced by a young man rather than a woman because the casting director hates how that common practice fails to accurately reflect what boys sound like.

If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend this article about the localization of the game:

With the new 4X speed option and general nerfing of storyline bosses, you can get through it relatively quickly if you aren't interested in doing a lot of side quests.

Woo, I made it, ma!

God, that game used to literally put me to sleep. Unless it's very different from the original, I'm gonna have to give that a pass.

Before I forget: Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogun is now available on console with a free demo that includes the first mission of the game. I'm not convinced that the control scheme translates well to console, but if team-based stealth sounds like your bag, I recommend giving it a whirl.

Yeah, they do have a role in the story, they just aren't fleshed out enough to do it well. Vaan ends up functioning as a kind of conscience for Ashe, but the game sometimes pushes him forward when he really should be hanging back.

Yeah, that is some obtuse bullshit of the sort that Matsuno is too over-fond of, specifically the time-limit part (the rest sounds doable, if needlessly arbitrary).

You can get hawkmen—or at least one—in the PSP game (which I think takes place after The Knight of Lodis? I don't actually know much about the Ogre universe).

Vagrant Story is the latest game on the Ivalice timeline. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of years between the two games.

Don't forget to check in at taverns and check the character log while you play FFT! There are important political changes that happen entirely off-screen.

That wasn't his king. Basch and Gabranth are from…Lodisia? I can't remember the name of their kingdom; it is described as being essentially wiped away culturally by the Empire. Gabranth framed Basch, letting the Empire fvck over Dalmasca without seeming to break their treaty. I assume this is also how he was able to

There are a bunch of quality of life improvements in the PSP version. You can rewind battles up to 50 (I think?) turns back, which is a lifesaver, often literally. Characters also have three lives before they die permanently. A big problem, though, is that character levels are now tied to their classes and not the

"He set his very bones about with Crow Milk."

I will say that the whole Bahamut sequence is probably the highlight of the game. It's fast, energetic, full of banter and quips and a really great, bombastic score. The game could've used a few more set pieces like it, because it is great fun. But if you're only going to have one big, whiz-bang moment in your game,

Gabranth submitted to the empire, seemingly out of self-preservation or a desperate desire to represent his country, even if the only way to do so is as a tool of its oppressor. But he does, ultimately, hate the Empire. He's furious at Ashe for refusing the power of the Sun-Cryst—which could destroy the Empire—and

Yeah, Matsuno's writing manages to be both great and forgettable simultaneously. Vagrant Story is probably the one that really sticks the best, but unfortunately is one of his most tedious games to actually play.

I would be very surprised if it didn't come to PC and maybe Xbone by the early half of next year. Square has been porting all the mainline FF titles to Steam lately.
