Hey, you're back! We were all wondering where you disappeared to!

3DS. It was on sale on the Virtual Console for like four bucks last weekend (it usually goes for like seven or eight, so it's still pretty cheap).

Yeah, I'm really curious how they handle the interface. It is definitely not a natural fit for consoles.

The thing about Metroid Prime is that it tells you where to go next but not how to get there and in no way prevents you—or even discourages you—from poking around in other areas. And in my experience, it only ever comes up when the next major area is on the other side of the map; the hints are infrequent, and you'll

I hate the wall jumping. Hate hate hate it. And since I have no idea how to consistently pull it off, I have no idea if there are areas where I'm supposed to be using it that I'm not.

I might also play more Super Metroid this weekend. This is going to sound like heresy, but I kind of do not like it much at all. I find the controls to be frustrating and I'm constantly banging my head trying to figure out where the hell I'm supposed to go (I just got the Wave Beam and don't know where to go now). I

I was tempted by Tides of Numenara, but I decided to go with the enhanced original, since it's generally considered a better story and it seems they are still adding in more content to Numenara. Plus, even with less of a discount, it was cheaper.

I just like that it isn't as washed-out looking as the original release. It's not just more detailed textures, it's a more vivid, colorful game.

Thousand Year Door is an instant buy for me on Virtual Console. Ball's in your court, Nintendo!

Twilight Princess HD basically is the Gamecube version, it just looks a lot better.

Wait, what did Pikmin 3 do with the gamepad that couldn't be reworked? All I remember was using it as a map.

That is true, although at least some of them could have workarounds if they wanted to bother. There weren't many games I can think of that absolutely required it to the point that I don't think it could be replaced.

It's basically a Bioware-style game that emphasizes gameplay systems over characters. If you liked the gameplay of Dragon Age: Origins, you'd probably like the gameplay of this game.

Out of curiosity, are there console players who are interested in the upcoming Pillars of Eternity console release? I love the game and am happy to see it getting a chance at a wider audience, but I'm not sure how much demand there is for such a game on console.

Middling reviews, like Eurogamer's borderline contemptuous one, didn't help, even though it's a really fantastic game that's bursting with creativity and polish.

So few people bought the WiiU that even if they end up porting the whole library it would be games the vast majority of Switch owners never played and maybe never even heard of. I think a few ports a year to fill in cracks in the release schedule would be a great approach.

Given how poorly the WiiU sold, I think that it's a minority of people who would actually know that these games were ports (and a minority that would've ever actually played them). They certainly are vocal, though.

I love Total Warhammer! Don't neglect your ranged units as the Dwarfs. As far as raw damage output goes, they're the strongest in the game.

Playing Darkest Dungeon with the new expansion. I still like the art style and theme even if I'm still not super crazy about the core gameplay loop. The design of the vampires is great, and definitely a lot freakier than I was expecting when they were announced.

You should be. The campaign is straightforward and doesn't punish you beyond demanding you use characters you may not be very good with, while the multiverse mode labels the hell out of everything so you generally know what you're getting into.
