This episode was a lot funnier than last week's. I don't know if they felt they got all the setup they needed and got the straight noir homages out of their system or what, but this episode got straight to the funny stuff.

The original ending was a freeze frame of Wendy and Danny laughing over a joke set to a jaunty music sting.

The ending is kind of an exploitative tearjerker, but the whole reason it's sad is that it's horrifically bleak. It would be like a movie where modern humans thaw out a Neanderthal child and then euthanize him after letting him hug a stuffed mammoth at a museum because it's the kindest thing they can do.

Honestly, I think we're arguing about two different things. If there were a Spanish language translation, you would want it to be a good one. My opinion is that I want dialogue that sounds natural to me. I don't want references to subject matter that wouldn't make sense for the characters, but I don't want stilted grammar or syntax either.
