@abgwin: Yeah, I'm not sure that I'd be interested in a Malibu wagon but it's a lot more likely than me being interested in a lifted, fattened up version of it. Is sitting higher really that important to people? It's not like most of these new crossovers have the trucklike appeal that originally led people to buy

So is 50mpg attained in eco-mode and 0-60 in 9.6 attained in power mode? And really. Power-mode? How many people are going to leave the car in power-mode and then complain that the fuel consumption isn't as good as advertised?

@jduffy13: What's the complex part? I don't know the details of this engine but twin turbos and direct engine aren't that exotic these days.

Does he get paid by the hyphen?

@krokounleashed: Thats also an entirely different kind of mutation. There's a big difference between a one off mutation and one that creates an entirely new species.

@DannyBN: So what you're saying is that the USPS needs a contract to buy the FPV Falcon Ute Super Pursuit for use as the new standard delivery vehicle? And they these need to somehow be sold to the public after a couple months of use? Brilliant!

@drewthat: And you meant flat 6 instead of straight 6 right? And what non turbo 3.6 makes more power than 422 HP? The GT3 makes 415. And 106 lb-ft less torque than the Falcon's 5.4L.

@zeeboid: Didn't Chevy only offer the Colorado with a I5 and a sub 5K towing capability for years?

@JDub: Isn't that pretty much what the Lexus ES has always been? A prettied up and optioned out Camry.

@damnelantra™: I'm sure that the Insight weighs more than the Civic hybrid but my step-dad's Civic hybrid has plenty of power for your standard commute. Sure, it isn't fun but it's not supposed be.

@MarkKelsosMigraine: It costs more but its so much easier to keep around for a long time. So if you just use a bit at a time its great. And according to the tube its double-concentrated! Of course in actuality its the exact same concentration as the stuff in the can.

@Ash78: I had an Opel Signum with a 1.8L gas engine when I was in Germany for a couple of weeks and was pleasantly surprised with its ability to survive on the autobahn. I'm sure the 6-speed manual made it a lot more tolerable than it would have been with an automatic. It also might have just been that I disliked

I'm guessing that the line about drawing a distinction between the Prius and the cheaper Insight is the real reason. The 1.8 probably doesn't cost much more than the 1.5 but it gives Toyota something to point to when trying to justify the pricetag on the Prius.

That tach reminds me of Fords with the 85 mph speedometer. Nothing breaks up the monotony of a long drive across the desert like playing the "how long can you coast before the speedo needle gets back to a number" game.

@budip: So what you're saying is that your original comment that "You can do this with $50 deep-cycle battery" isn't true. Assuming that "this" is what the article you responded to was actually about. Sure there are plenty of other ways to power your house for multiple days that don't involve a Prius but a single

This is going to end up in 16 different models? First, I didn't think Hyundai had 16 different models even in all the markets they served. Second, does this mean they'll be putting it in their economy cars too?

@BMRFILE: The LSD is a $500 option. If you get a Cobalt without one its not GM's fault. And I highly doubt GM chose a $500 boost gauge. But maybe they did and its built out of those ridiculously expensive internet strawmen.

Anyone know how big a difference the lack of IRS makes to handling when compared to the sedan/coupe?
