Actually, I know O'Neal was being tongue-in-cheek and I'm really not a fan of the franchise, but they are actually about family. The family you make for yourself .
They were. But like the final product, the monster doesn't spend the entire film in cloak mode.
This is insanely old news. I remember seeing the red lobster of the original design was one of the first things I ever saw on the internet.
I saw this movie when it was initially released and I can assure you that no one… absolutely no one… considered the CGI effects "cutting edge". Seriously, they were never anything but laughable.
"As the divide between rich and poor widens at home and abroad, one fear of transhumanists is that body- and mind-enhancing technologies will be the exclusive province of the rich, who will be controlling yachts with their minds and snorting coke off of each other’s robot exoskeletons while our frail, unenhanced…
Sweet Valley High is The Simpsons of the outdated franchice literature aimed at a demographic that no longer exists set.
"Sweet Valley High did it!"
My point was about hard graders. Your point is about… what? How you can be sarcastic and satirize me personally rather than address what I said? Congratulations.
I used to be a strict grader. Years ago. In my head, there was only so much room for the best of each genre. If it wasn't the absolute best of its example, it rated a B or less.
I'll take your word that you "know something about the time period". But you know nothing about Griffith or his oeavre and you haven't even seen the film in question and are going off some blurb you read somewhere. So let me walk you through this and maybe you can finally concede that your assumptions are just not the…
You haven't seen the movie but a plot outline is enough to convince you that even though you have a New York Times article verifying that it was a response to the racism apparent in Birth of a Nation, that you know better? And in your mind this makes sense?
What are you talking about? Griffith? It's on record that he made Intolerance as an apoligy for the racism of Birth of a Nation. He apparently did think deeply about it, felt bad and made a movie with the greatest crane shot to date to make that point.
That's a super lame reason to boycott his work.
Intolerance was an apology for Birth of a Nation.
I'm down with the other three, but Cruise? Tom Cruise? Other than being a high profile Scientologist (which I couldn' care any less about; it's no worse than any other religion for sins against humanity) did he do anything I don't know about?
It doesn't. The article does.
…because 40 years old is the magic dotted line beyond which mixing pills and alcohol may kill you. Up until them, have at!
It's still a thing because the community here as a whole spam the crap out of the comments and just chat. It gets amazing views and hundreds of comments, very few of which are actually referring the graphic. To them, this is "funny".
