And in a few years it'll be a good bargain. But as someone with a blue leather interior right now, unless it's kept spotless youre not going to like it as much.

Wierd question. Has anyone done a test of sidewall vs road wear? We know that having proper tire sidewall improves ride quality and minimizes damage to wheels and sometimes the entire vehicle, but does having a low profile tire combined with weight cause more damage to the road as well?

(pulls crowbar out of trunk) oh I'm right there with you. I want to find the guy who decided to replace the XJ with the first generation Liberty. Getting an I6 proper Jeep is just a side benefit

Looking at Lincolns website they sell 4 SUVs that are literally just gussied up Fords. And considering that you can spec up the equivalent Ford for less money, why wouldn’t you do that?

Ahhh a student of automotive history. Pontiac was the only "sister brand" to replace the original brand, that being Oakland. The others were LaSalle, just under Cadillac, Marquette which was just under Buick and Viking which was under Oldsmobile. And I would have loved for Viking to succeed as well. Imagine telling

Cant believe I missed this one because mine comes from Saturday night. So I’m working on my rear brake lines which one had started leaking. Okay fine. Replace the line that’s leaking with the car on ramps, with chocks and a jack stand to be super safe. Everything is going fine, passenger side is done, gonna take it

Okay but why though?

In my opinion the Tablet is the biggest offender though. The fact that you can't order a Tesla without it is annoying to begin with, but now other auto manufacturers are taking the "let's glue a kindle fire to the dash" approach. Buttons are good. You can feel a button without turning your eyes off the road. And

Huh I didn't know that happened. Poor Rick Moranis. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/02/us/rick-moranis-assault-trnd/index.html

Fellow NYer here and I have to agree with all of what you said.

Damn right. More people = more resources needed to sustain the population. It's simple math. And for the inevitable response of "but what if we used those resources more efficiently" NO. We've been trying to become more efficient for decades, and we're approaching the point of finishing returns. We're getting far

The emissions loophole has gotten ridiculous. And oddly enough, I lay the blame partially at the feet of AMC. Remember the Eagle? The wagon, sx4 2 door hatchback, the kammback/ gremlin and the sedan? Yeah those were legally light trucks. Then the XJ Cherokee did the same thing. And the Explorer. Flood gates of

Ted Cruz when he hears the name of the snow cat. (look up Ted Cruz dildo law if you want further context)

Exactly. Taint is a poser and nothing more. Tom on the other hand is a good guy. You'll find most regular Jalop members are. And DT? Full on Jeep Pimp. He's rolling those jeeps all over. East coast, Midwest, Moab, you name it, he's probably jeeped there. May not have been Running, but you know, A for effort.

Remember the kid who was really smart, but never did any homework or studied for a test?” Nooooo? (Eyes darting wildly while hiding test scores)

Durango?

Yeah no wonder that thing rides terribly. The TT usually had solid rear tires. Combine that with a single transverse leaf spring with a huge pack, no shock absorbers of any kind, and a 2 speed axle plus a 2 speed transmission and you're in for a rough ride. Insult to injury? 20hp and a top speed for the TT of maybe

To quote George Carlin "the earth will be fine. The people won't"

So to bring the Volvo guys a bit of cheer, I'm announcing a very interesting project come spring time. My father has obtained very cheaply a 94 Volvo 960 i6 that's currently an i5. In 2023 he wants my help dropping in a Ford 289, mildly warmed up (.460 lift camshaft, Edelbrock intake and carb, headers, true duals,

For those wondering, that Renault is called the alliance. It was sold for a few years by AMC dealers. It was also Motor Trends car of the year. And the top one they desperately want to take back.
